WASHINGTON - Labor unions hold six of the top 10 positions in the Center for Responsive Politics‘ list of top political donors to federal candidates and political parties since the 1989-90 election cycle, underscoring their importance to the Democratic Party.

1. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees_ $30,671,426

3. National Association of Realtors — $20,414,385

5. Philip Morris — $18,951,671

7. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers — $18,394,547

9. Service Employees International Union — $17,647,346

3. Not me, I'm AFSCME We are # 1!!!!

AFSCME LOCAL 251 Omaha, Ne. AFSCME has committed to $50 MILLION in hard and soft cash and lots of volunteers for 2008. I posted about it several months ago and nobody paid any attention.
