There's been hints that if Dean is knocked out after Wisconsin he will back Edwards to stop Kerry. So the converse question is if Edwards is knocked out after Wisconsin will he endorse Dean?

My best guess is no, Veep/AG runners don't back the insurgent.

1. I'd like to see no endorsements.
I think the drop outs should wait and endorse the nominee. That's something I respect about Lieberman.

4. Lieberman doesn't like any of these guys.
And his endorsement would be detrimental to everyones campaigns.

3. Pro-war Edwards could hardly support AntiWar Dean. Kucinich was the
exception when he thre his support, in Iowa, in certain circumstances to pro-war Edwards.

Dean '04...

15. Clark didn't run because of the war. He ran because he wants..
bush out of the White House. Clark ran because he didn't believe any of the other candidates would be able to beat bush. PERIOD. Stop misrepresenting Clark's motives. You're 100% wrong about them.

6. Edwards will be getting a fat matching fund check which will keep him
running through March 2. I don't see him dropping out after WI.

8. No if Edwards drops after WI , which I seriously doubt, he will either
endorse Kerry or withhold his endorsement.

9. I expect everyone to endorse Kerry.
It's very important to project solidarity and unity during this election cycle.

I don't see any reason why Edwards would not endorse Kerry. There is so much to gain, and nothing to lose.

Withholding an endorsement would seem like sour grapes.

Endorsing Dean would be like jumping on a wrecked train; it won't get you anywhere and you look stupid.

I hope no one else drops out before March 2.

10. Will Bugs Bunny support the Tasmanian Devil?
Methinks not.

Dean typifies all that Edwards has sought to avoid in campaign tactics. For love of finesse alone, Edwards wouldn't endorse such recklessness.

There is a deep ideological split between these two guys, and it's not so much a question of policy as it is procedure. Edwards' voting record is more liberal/progressive than Dean's, but on many of the major issues, they're in complete accord. The extreme difference is in personality and style: Dean is a slash-and-burn renegade, whereas Edwards is a listener and coalition builder.

Dean is so absolutely, completely without a chance that it mystifies me why so many can't see it. Whether it's fair or not, it's unimaginable that it's not obvious.

Do you want to invite some guy to the party who has no compunction about calling a noble twenty year political veteran with a better record a REPUBLICAN, as he did of Kerry? In family terms, you don't want this guy around the table.

11. Probably not. You usually endorse candidates.
And Dean won't be one next Wednesday.

16. And he would drop out why?
He's much stronger than dean, especially in the upcoming south, and He's bound to take second in Wisconsin. There'd be no reason to drop even if he loses Tuesday.

dean needs to drop out and throw his support behind one of the two main contenders for the good of the party.

You don't back a lost cause if you have aspirations of VP or AG.
