Fred Thompson is 'a Soft, Safe Place to Be' (heh)
Fred Thompson's ex girlfriend doesn't know an insult when she delivers one.

I'll let you decide whether Lori Morgan's mouth droppings are more of an insult to Fred or to Republican women.

Warning: This has a puke factor rivaling the 'wisdom' of Phyllis Schlafly.

Lori Morgan (see photo) thinks women will vote for Fred Thompson (aka, the "Tennessee Stud") -- Not because he's the best candidate, but because:

“I think he has a great chance of capturing the women’s vote. He’s majestic. He’s a soft, safe place to be and that could be Fred’s ticket. Women love a soft place to lay and a strong pair of hands to hold us.”

Sheesh! Maybe Fred will hire Lori to be his campaign manager!

1. The comments on the actual article page are kind of scary.

I would love to have Fred Thompson for a son or a husband, preferably both!

Marti Linder, Pahrump, NV, US

Maybe that's a spoof.

3. As "safe" as a snake pit

:evilfrown: Fred Thompson was a chief fundraiser for Scooter Libby defense fund.

:evilfrown: Mary Matalin (former Cheney enabler) is an un-paid advisor for Fred Thompson

:evilfrown: Liz Cheney works on the Fred Thompson campaign.

:evilfrown: Tim Griffin (Karl Rove's "appointee") interviewed to work on the Thompson campaign

:evilfrown: Ed Rollins (to Lou Dobbs) "Fellow Republicans say he doesn't like to work long hours" (lazy)...just like Bush.

It sounds like CHENEY is grooming a Bush clone/Thomson takeover in 2008.

We are not dealing with "soft and safe", we are dealing with dangerous and deadly.

4. Let's not forget he vetted the Supreme Court nominations...
Of Alito and Roberts, too. This is a dangerous man.

6. First off, Lori Morgan, mediocre country has-been, wants to go down in history
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 05:09 PM by wienerdoggie
as the President's old girlfriend--it'll be good for her Branson lounge act. Second of all, why is the friendly-to-Fred media trying so hard to reinforce his "ladies man" image? There's a reason they're trying to lay so much foundation on this. Methinks Fred protesteth too much.

15. I have a feeling that there is a tear-down that's going to happen with this guy--
there's a reason why the GOPers are hesitant to enter him into the race. I think he's the most scandal-prone, even including Rudy--and I think that scandal will be personal/sexual stuff. Seems like the GOPers running this guy are trying to get the word out there about what sort of horndog he was--to reduce the shock value for future revelations? There are some conservatives that have been very hesitant about him--their reservations speak volumes. If he was such a rising star, such an obvious choice, how come he's only been sorta running since March? Usually this shit is years in the making. Just my hunch.

8. Why is this man with the seriously hanging jowls called the Tenn stud?
Compare him to fellow Tennessean Al Gore, who is not only awesome looking, but also incredibly committed to the planet and its creatures.

10. He's charming.
I don't like the man's politics one bit, but I spent a whole day with him on a tour of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park when he was our senator and I was a reporter.

He's witty, intelligent (despite reports otherwise), not nearly as lazy as some would have you believe and, well, charming.

Good looking, he ain't, but I know what the score is regarding who the corporate media will promote and why.

11. And it's when I hear that kind of thing that I am reminded of the words of Gavin DeBecker
the celebrity security guru...who reminds us that many an evil criminal appears in charming guise. And that we should never forget that a person who is "charming" is a person who is putting you under a spell, so to speak...and it would do you good to ask why.

12. I completely agree.
Granted, I can see THROUGH Thompson's charm, but I also would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that it was there.

And your source has a fantastic first name. :hi:

13. Maybe, but he probably has to have an unusually large
"doink-doink" as well. Charm from that face can only go so far.
