1. I am desperate for Dean
to be my president.

He has all the issues. He's honest. And this country would be lucky to have Judy as first lady.

Howard Dean is one of the most honorable candidates I have ever had the privilege to witness.

It's time to donate again. We have send a message to these people, and I can't think of a better way to do it.

3. I with ya. I read an article of his interview with a WI news paper today
and it's apparent that this country is desperate for his exact leadership qualities.

It saddens me greatly that it may not happen. It's the loss of our Nation for sure.

35. Welllllllllllllllllll............... lets just say many of us are
Edited on Sun Feb-15-04 02:26 AM by Lisa0825
less than happy with the direction we have gotten locally in the Houston area. And say what you will about it being bottom up, but when someone wants to make it top-down, and people listen to them, it fucks things up. For example, folks were discouraged from attending a lively visibility even which was planned for this weekend... really pissed me off. Yes, block-walking is important, but so are solid showings to the public... everything has its place.

Anyway............ no matter what happens, I am now determined to be involved in my local political scene. Click on my sig link to help defeat Tom Delay!

5. Me too.
Howard Dean is the first person to inspire me so much and to raise my hopes so high for a better America. His strength, candor and sincerity is so refreshing. This country is broken and Dean is just the doctor to fix it. And I feel sorrow and disappointment that this probably won't happen. But I refuse to give up hope, and I will continue to donate and do whatever else I can to help get Dean into the White House.

Time to donate a little bit more right now... :)

8. Do not go silently into that good night!
I am disillusioned, many of you may feel similarly.

I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm not rolling over.

Dean started something, it is up to us to finish it.

What to do? this question is running through my head. I'm starting by writing to Mike Malloy and the editorial pages of the NYT, CNN and the Guardian.

What to do next? I dunno, I am lost. But be damned if I give up on what Dean started. Dean wants his country back! I want my country back! You want your country back!

If Dean loses this nomination, it is up to US to keep faith and fight for the issues which inspired us to begin with! Keep the faith!

10. my suggestion is that we start locally....
the first effort of the grassroots was to put forth a national candidate without the permission of the DLC----if the grassroots had been born twenty years earlier, we would've taken over the Democratic party state headquarters, and run our own candidates locally, then state, and then for the House of Representatives, and the Senate---this ensures that the later democratic presidential candidate has the support of a progressive Democratic system already in place.

13. 2nd in Nevada, according to AP:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&e=2&u=/ap/20040215/ap_on_el_pr/democrats:

Kerry, the only candidate to campaign in Nevada, easily outdistanced Howard Dean (news - web sites) in second place, for a Valentine's Day (news - web sites) win that unexpectedly drew thousands of people to the party's meetings and surprised officials who saw far less enthusiasm four years ago

Now, I don't know how this looks in %%, since I didn't see any numbers, but I'll take this as a good sign.

14. Nevada: Kerry 67, Dean 17, Edwards 10.,
OK, so not exactly a solid second, but both in NV and DC, Dean got nearly 2x support of Edwards, and some delegates

17. Almost. AFAIK NV "primary" is meaningless.
It's a straw poll, it doesn't assign any delegates for presedential purposes.

22. Saw him this a.m. in Wis - reporter lied - 95%of seats were filled
-contrary to a published report - there was an excellent turnout considering it was in a little burg and before noon. He looked great and was on his game - but a little more subdued than I care to see him. I wish he could dump that new guy and bring back Trippi - he could energize the campaign tremendously. I'm not sure if Howard understood the great vibes we, the faithful, got from Joe.
I would love to see him go back to the "old Howard" - get rid of the suit - roll up those sleeves - be ardent and hoot and holler - the crowd would go crazy for him. Bring back the passion!

25. Considering what they have done to him - its amazing how well
he is doing and handling everything with grace and dignity. If it were me and my party screwed me over nine way to Sunday the way the Dems did to Dean I would be in a padded cell wearing a straight jacket. Even NPR today reported on Kerry and Gerhardt as the forces behind that heinous "Osama" ad in Iowa.
Never forgive - never forget.

36. Go Dean! And Dean supporters...
...should go to npr.org and try to find the bit on the DLC smear campaign they aired yesterday. I only caught part of it, so they might have backed away from their initial conclusion that they killed Dean, but it's worth a listen. Because more people listen to NPR than read DU.

42. Dean should stick it out
Dean has gotten so many people engaged in the political process, myself included. I will support him until he wins the nomination or throws his support to someone else. If I had my druthers, I'd have Dean stick it out. His presence in the primaries has engaged the interest of the press, and inspired many progressives who are looking for a passionate candidate with strong convictions. I don't want to even think about it, but if Dean throws his support to someone else, I hope it's someone who has fire in his belly and vision to change. Dean makes me believe we can make a difference. I won't lose hope that we can make a difference. I'm voting in Wisconsin on Tuesday. For Dean.
