You gotta hand it to Junior. He`s a one-man demolition team at the absolute top of his game. Bush should tour the country in a pace car and set the standard for the cluster-ruination he`s so famous for. The days of Jeb getting all the attention are O-V-E-R. That Junior Bush is a Can-Do Guy, an all-American, heavy-duty Decider with the beautiful willingness to grab hold of a position and not let go. Even if he`s up to his kneecaps in a kind volunteer`s blood. Even if a law has to get broken to do it. He`s the Piranha President, known for his fang-sinking....into things like Geneva Conventions and FISA Courts. Odd how that happens, when a guy who never did much of anything starts wrecking things on a world-wide scale. Guess Junior`s mother should have spent less time pearl shopping and more time figuring out why all those frogs` legs were in her well-manicured driveway.
How much more can Bush ruin? Is there anyone left alive in Baghdad? In New Orleans? In Kabul? Has the national debt eaten a hole down through the earth yet? Do we have any scientists left? Any steel workers? Any constitutional scholars? Do we still have any Mom and Pop stores? Any textile factories? Do we still make things? Save things? Do we still dream and hope for a tomorrow? I have to ask because I think my country is gone. George Bush ground it under his heels while reporters were chasing after (not really) missing brides. Almost makes me yearn for the days when we were all talking about Pet Rocks and disco tunes.
I`m waiting for a big, national discussion. One of those earth-shattering chats that stops all the traffic and makes things quiet. Where people look around at things they haven`t noticed for five years and say, "Holy shit. When did that happen?"
