How is Cheney paid by Congress?
Is this his total paycheck, or is it in addition to the one from the White House?

I think that he should be paid by Congress only on a per diem basis - when he actually is there in his official capacity (not when he is there to tell someone to fuck himself..)

1. Congress Votes ALL the Appropriations
Including the salaries, travel budgets and entertainment allotments of the President and Vice President.

Congress could take away all of Cheney's staff, computers, phones, fax machines, etc., if they had the cojones.

An interesting and appealing idea. But wouldn't Halliburton just set up a parallel office staff (with better office hardware, no doubt) across Pennsylvania Avenue from the Old Executive Office Building?

4. technically the could take it pretty damn far
Cut off spending for his entire staff, Air Force 2. Halliburton couldn't step in and pay for political reasons. The Dems should push this hard!

7. I don't know if Cheney would be embarrassed by such a move from congress
...but the republican party would certainly be and would tell Cheney to "hit the road Jack". Also, Cheney's real employer, the British Empire and the Royal Family would do to Cheney what they did to Princess Diana :hurts:

The democrats must keep up the pressure now and not let up :kick:

9. You don't work for us.
Mr. Cheney and Mr. Bush have determined that the Vice President doesn't work for us, not for the GOP or the Democrats, as such let Mr. Bush pay for the office out of his salary. All funding for the Vice President's office including:

Staff
VP Salary\
Office Expenses
Homes (including underground bunkers)
Travel expenses for himself and his family (including Air Force Two
His security detail
Food, health insurance, retirement benefits, cleaning, anything the taxpayers pay for

All of it needs to now come out of the President's budget and I don't recommend an increase in President Bush's budget to cover all the above expenses.

We seem to have been mistaken about the Vice President's office, we don't hire or vote him into office as such he only works for the President, that's who we've hired and the President hired Dick Cheney, so the President is responsible for him, we are not.
