Here is a better organization that is using the money for good

I have had people close to me and I bought the ribbons and the pens. To find this out, makes me feel used

1. There is only one reason this woman has had honors like this heaped upon her
and that's because she is a Bush Pioneer.

She also helps keep the pharmaceutical companies happy by keeping them in business treating cancer rather than getting rid of it. If breast cancer were actually eradicated, a huge source of their revenue would dry up. She knows it; thus the Komen Foundation aims at researching treatment and cures rather than examining root causes.

It's time for people to wake up and stop throwing money at people every time they brandish a pink ribbon.

7. Curing cancer, not just preventing it is on sound moral ground
There is intrinsic good in trying to cure cancer.

Just as there is intrinsic good in trying to prevent it in the first place.

They are both good things that should go on. If an organization tries to do one and not the other it is still a good thing.

14. I disagree. What good is a "cure"
when millions won't even be able to afford it?

11. I will not have anything to do with the RED CROSS.
The Red Cross has had several Republican women as president of their organization.

You can give blood to your local hospital.

8. A charity should be judged on its own work
Not the politics of its founder.

10. Hear, hear!
or is it "here, here"? Either way, when it comes to noble causes, the ends justify the means.

12. I don't like their ends, either.
I believe they are in business to keep breast cancer going, whatever it takes. That's what their push behind "cure" is. That's ALL it is. They have no interest whatsoever in prevention. Only treatment and "cure."

If by chance any way to prevent breast cancer was stumbled upon, they would probably suppress it in order to keep Big Pharma well remunerated.

4. I Guess She's 'Dedicating Her Life" To Bushco now
She says she 'dedicated her life' to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. But with this new job, there's no way she'll have time to do both. I guess either her life is starting anew or they cured cancer and didn't mention it. Hmmm....

6. Allegedly effective alternative cures....
that I have read about on the net. I'm not saying they are good, I'm saying that they are being discussed and people are being treated and some of them are cancerfree.

Please folks, do your own research.

Hyperbaric chambers to saturate the body cells with oxygen.

Other oxygen treatments such as H202 and O3, given intravenously.

Sodium ascorbate (a buffered version of Vitamin C) given in 20 or 30 gram doses/day via IV, to cure cancer in a couple of weeks.

Essiac herbal tea invented by Rene Caisse, a Quebec nurse.

9. Maybe, but if it was your child what type of treament would you go for?
For me it would be the double-blind studied treatments. Scientific method and all that.
