Realistically, Can We Win COLORADO?
Edited on Sat Feb-14-04 06:58 PM by liberalpragmatist
I was looking at the Colorado numbers. Bush only got 51%. Gore got 42.4%, but Nader got 5.25%, which means that combined the two of them got between 47% and 48% of the vote. Nader's been hinting he'll run again, so, assuming he gets something like 1 or 2% this time, is it possible for us to win Colorado? What about if Nader DOESN'T run?

1. Clinton won Colorado once.
I think it was the first time in like 30 years. I think we have a shot in about 40-45 states.

2. Optimism is great. But you asked REALISTICALLY...
So, I would say it's a very long shot; nearly impossible.

3. I'd estimate I know 100 people in Denver
and 2 are voting for Bush. That's my poll and I'm sticking to it. Denver will go Dem for sure.

5. Maybe...........I think it's possible and I will tell you why!
I live in Cap Hill..Collecting signatures for 2 statewide citizen's initiatives all over Denver. I have spoken to many people who have not voted in years and will come out to defeat Bushit. I have also spoken to people WHO DID vote for Bushit in 2000 and won't this time. We have work to get our message out, BUT just like the rest of the country, people are hurting from Bushit's policies and they are REALLY pissed over his immigration policy with Mexico

6. One advantage of
putting Bill Richardson on the ticket is that he would help a lot in Colorado among the growing Hispanic population.

This is one of the states we should consider working towards in building an EC majority.

Others on my short list: LA, AR, TN, AZ.

7. Don't forget Ohio
Big industrial state - lots of unhappy people about manufacturing jobs lost forever on Shrub's watch. We get Ohio and Florida and it will be all over for the shrub on election night, imo.
