2004 Dream Team
The more I think about it, the more I think the best team for the democrat party is an Edwards-Dean ticket. Now hear this out.

We need someone articulate, charming, and relatable at the top of the ticket. The other half of the ticket needs to be someone passionate who can fire up the base. There's no doubt that Dean possesses that fire. The two would balance each other out perfectly.

Edwards has the ability to get important votes in the south. He can speak to the average person in a way they can understand and relate to. Where he is from and what he's come from will appeal strongly to southern voters. He can get some of those "NASCAR dads."

Another important demographic is the soccer moms. As shallow as it sounds, soccer moms tend to vote for on the "attraction factor." They are more likely to vote for a candidate who they see as attractive...someone they would want to date. The soccer moms would eat up Edwards. I'm sorry but I just can't see too many soccer moms finding Kerry attractive. Sure there are comparisons between Kerry and Abe Lincoln. Sure Kerry is tall, but he also looks like he's about the same age as Abe. There's no attraction. Soccer moms loved Clinton. He was a good looking guy, and they swooned for him. Edwards will have that same effect on this group.

The importance of Dean on the ticket is vital. Edwards can ooze charm and be nice while Dean can be his attack dog. Dean is also the only vp possibility who can really rip into Dickhead Cheney. Dean can get voters worked into a fevered pitch.

These two together, unstoppable. Fire and Ice. There's just no way the repugs could compete against what those two would bring to the table.

just my 3 cents

2. Edwards and Dean are fine people
However I don't think that they are equipped to fend off Rove. Kerry has a lot of experience fighting off the republicans and their tactics. Edwards has only been in office few years and Dean has only Vermont experience. Maybe Kerry voted wrong according to people here but he voted to protect us in case bush was not lying. I am sure that there will be people who disagree with me but I think Kerry will lead us in the right direction.
