DWW Calling all Millennials! The new MILLENNIAL MANIFESTO! (must read)
Now there is a book and Web site devoted to making 2004 the Year of the Millennial Youth Movement. There are 15 million new Millennial generation voters in 2004 who were not old enough to vote in 2000!!

They will end up voting 2 to 1 for Dean by Election Day, mark the words of a professional political consultant!

Read this book! Unless you want to be left on the sidelines next year and not realize how Dean is a Revolution, not just a political campaign.

Oh my God, this is really happening--just as Howe and Strauss predicted way back in 1992! We just might be saved, my friends--and the youth shall be the ones who do it!

2004 Declared The Year of the Youth Movement & New Book Articulates Youth Activist Agenda
Millennial Manifesto, a new book about youth activism, student service, and generational politics in America, has just been published by two young activists, Scott Beale and Abeer Abdalla. The product of over five years of research and nearly 1,000 interviews, Millennial Manifesto is the first book written by young people to identify a youth political agenda. The foreword is written by two generational experts, William Strauss and Neil Howe, the New York Times best-selling authors of Generations, The Fourth Turning, and Millennials Rising. Scott and Abeer have declared 2004 to be “The Year of the Youth Movement” as more young people are running for office, volunteering in their communities and getting involved in their schools.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 26 2003--Millennial Manifesto, a new book about youth activism, student service, and generational politics in America, has just been published by two young activists, Scott Beale and Abeer Abdalla.

According to Scott, “There is an untold story of youth activism in our country that for far too long has been ignored. The dominant perception that youth don’t care about politics couldn’t be more wrong. In 2004 we will see a sharp rise in youth activism.”

Scott Beale and Abeer Abdalla come from opposite ends of the political spectrum. Scott Beale is a Georgetown University graduate who used to work for President Clinton as the Associate Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and was the youngest-ever Core Supervisor to organize election logistics in Bosnia. Abeer Abdalla is an active Republican organizer who worked with Service Vote to help connect volunteerism and politics in the 2000 Election. With the help of hundreds of young people, these two founders of Millennial Politics.com have written the generation’s first-ever political autobiography. More of the author’s bios are available online at millennialpolitics.com.

Millennial Manifesto has received critical acclaim. According to Hans Riemer, the Washington Director of Rock the Vote, “Millennial Manifesto is an outstanding tool for both students and young professionals who want to get involved and make a difference as well as for older people who want to understand this activist generation.” (For more info on Rock the Vote, see: rockthevote.org)

The pendulum is swinging back my friends--and Dean will ride it to knock Smirky off his ass!

Also go to the site set up by Scott Beale, the new leader of the Heroic Millennials--maybe the new Tom Paine of the 21st Century?

1. Awesome stuff.
That put a real shiver up my spine. You know for the first time in over twenty years I feel like something truly serious is stirring in the populous...something really GOOD for a change.

I like this. I like this alot.

3. I'm 22
So I guess I'm a "millenial," and I'd love to think that my peers are strongly liberal and Democratic, but unfortunately I've noticed that many (if not most) are conservative and Republican.

I hope I'm wrong.

4. 2004 is the year they wake up, especially when they realize Bush will
draft them in 2005. The first lottery will likely be June 15, 2005 of 20 year old-men. Read this Draft Activation Plan from the SSS itself: http://www.sss.gov/perfplan_FY2004.html

All Bush has to do is ask the Congress for it on April 1, 2005. They are spending $28 million in 2004 to reduce activation time from 8 months to 75 days!!

Bush '04 = DRAFT '05

Women too, in the Medical and the upcoming Special Skills Draft -- up to age 44 for doctors, nurse, computer experts, linguists and engineers --and ANYONE ELSE DoD ASKS FOR!!

5. the year of your birth tells something, but the Generation demographics
are flexible. You could be born in 1980 or 81 and still be a fervent Millennial type, especially if you had Boomer parents (mostly born between 1942 and 1962).

Read the Generations book and the Millennial Manifesto book and be prepared to be amazed (and get lots of shivers)!

6. Here is more of the actual Manifesto Intro:

“ We are the generation we have been waiting for!”
A Better World is Possible
For far too long, young Americans have been overlooked, undervalued, and misunderstood. An entire generation has been growing up shackled by the stereotypes of generations past and the socially acceptable discrimination against youth. But not anymore. Instead, we are standing up to declare our generational identity, affirm our self-worth, proclaim what issues we care about, and decide in what direction we are taking this country. We are proud members of the Millennial Generation and this is our story.

-snip-

A New Generation is on the Rise
Welcome to the Millennial Generation! We are a dynamic, diverse, digital generation that is changing the world. We are self-confident, group-oriented, and internationally aware. We are just now beginning to get organized, and our generational identity is being formed. Our generation, the Millennials, is still young, but the roadmap is clear. By examining our political activity, it becomes obvious where we are taking this country and how soon we will be there. In the short period of time we have been alive, Millennials received so much from this country and we have an incredible opportunity and fundamental responsibility to give back much more.

We have worked hard to make Millennial Manifesto an introduction to our generation. If you’re a Millennial, this book is written for you and it will detail for you some of the activism that exists in our generation as well as some of the activists shaping it. If you’re not a Millennial, then this Millennial Manifesto will introduce you to our world, which is being overlooked by the evening news and the national papers. This book documents our political priorities, profiles some young leaders, and provides a roadmap for aspiring activists. This book also previews what’s to come in 2004, including the Presidential Election and the Million Youth March. The accompanying website MillennialPolitics.com is full of facts and figures that supplement this book...

...Our generation has no excuse not to be engaged and work for social change. As you are about to read, there are many pressing issues that demand the creative, capable hands, and minds of the Millennials. We must not sit idly by and listen to the band play on as our nation sinks, unable to overcome partisan rhetoric and a public turned off to our failing democracy. We will not be passive participants in our nation’s politics; it is time for us to make ourselves be heard!
