"Billary" Is A Right Wing Contraction
My Reich Wing boss and his like minded employees used it incessantly during the nineties... It was meant to emasculate Bill and cast Hillary as a controlling shrew... Why Democrats use it is beyond me...

Thanks for listening or reading...

1. Actually, it's a portmanteau.
Hope this helps.

Love,

6. Exactly....
A portmanteau is a word or morpheme that fuses two or more words or word parts to give a combined or loaded meaning. A folk usage of portmanteau refers to a word formed by combining both sounds and meanings from two or more words (e.g., spork from spoon and fork, animatronics from animation and electronics, ginormous from gigantic and enormous, or blaxploitation from black and exploitation). Typically, portmanteaux are nonce words or neologisms. Portmanteaux are commonly used in scientific literature for a wide variety of technical words, such as cyborg from cybernetic and organism.

3. Frankly, if that was all what would be used against Hillary, we wouldn't have any issues in 2008
What will happen is that her contradictions will be thrown back at her. The most glaring contradictions include the IWR and the patriot act.

I have no doubt that all the sexual baggage of Bill Clinton will be brought up throughout the campaign if she is the nominee.

It will be very difficult for her to fight a media machinery that will hold her to a different standard than her republican opponent
if she gets the nomination.

In my view no matter who are candidate is, we will have the most problem if the repulbicans nominate guilliani. The press has encompased a myth around him, and it will be a challenge for us to dispel that myth, because many people don't seek the truth, but are quite content being fed misinformation without finding the turth for themseleves

Can we over come it? Yes, but our candidate MUST come out in the offensive. We must emphasis healthcare, the supreme court, civil rights, and getting us out of Iraq. The failures of the bush administration must be our emphasis, because this is essentialy what the republicans our running on.

We must not run campaigns like Gore and Kerry did in 2000 and 2004

8. I was referring to their lack of energy in their campaigns rather than their political skills
I do however agree that her political skills are much more keen, but so are her negatives, so she will need every bit of agressiveness to overcome the hate that will be thrown at her

5. perhaps at first - but things change
On countdown last night they covered a story about Hillary's people refusing GQ access to Bill, unless they pull a potentially negative story on Hillary. I think, in all fairness, if this case is true, then perhaps the Billary name fits here?

7. So are "Shillery" and "Hitlery" used by Democrats
including right here on DU. It's shameful. "Breck Girl" or "Silky Pony" for Edwards. "BO" (when it's not a simple matter of initials, but a slimey play on them) or "Barack Hussein" (ditto). "Clobama" etc. Or even calling Democratic candidates "Republicans." We on DU can critique our primary candidates while showing a modicum of respect by not stooping to the low level of Right Wing-like name-calling. I hope.

11. I can't stand any of those 'clever' names.
Clobama seems to be a favorite; a juvenile way to way to mock two candidates at once.

Just saying.

13. Because she''s coasting on his coatails
Face it. Without Bill, Hilary would just be a corporate lawyer somewhere, or a minor elected official or an employee of some think-tank.

Okay, maybe she'd be a congressperson or a Senator. Maybe. But even then, she wouldn;t be any more prominent than any otehr representative.

So Bilary is a fine nickname for me.

That's why a lot of Democrats sound like Republicans. The Hillary-haters suffer most terribly from this disorder.

when Bill referred to them as a "two-fer".
