Chris Dodd's statement on the Kyl-Lieberman amendment on Iran
"I cannot support the Kyl-Lieberman amendment on Iran. To do so could give this President a green light to act recklessly and endanger US national security. We learned in the run up to the Iraq war that seemingly nonbinding language passed by this Senate can have profound consequences. We need the president to use robust diplomacy to address concerns with Iran, not the language in this amendment that the president can point to if he decides to draw this country into another disastrous war of choice."

He added:

“We shouldn’t repeat our mistakes and enable this President again.”

I'm even liking Joe Biden more and more, although I'm still kind of pissed off at him for that bankruptcy stuff. He sure does know his way around foreign policy, though.

I have not been a fan of Sen. Clinton, and Obama has left me cold. The vote (and lack of vote) today just confirm my feelings.

25. Same here
I've always thought Dodd was pretty good, but up to now he hasn't seemed to spark much interest in Democrats. Biden---I'm with you on the Bankruptcy bill. It's hard to forgive him for that. But he's pretty good otherwise.

5. Glad he feels this way but......isn't it a moot point now?
Actually reading this is scary to me.....do the other senators realize what their "Aye" votes have done?

7. The MSNBC 'political analyst' was on with Olbermann. He said his sources
indicated that there was no actual intention to go into Iran, that it was just 'saber rattling' even though admittedly that's a stupid approach to take.

I would like to think that's all it is, dumb as though it is, but with these guys at the helm, who knows????

I'm guessing the AYE voters felt that it was strongly stated that he can't go in without approval. Pfffft! Do they forget with whom they're dealing?

I gave him $25. I'm strongly for Barack, but Chris is a good fellow.
