Got a call today to have a fundraiser for a senate candidate.......
It is one I would support, and on a normal day we might have considered it....though I hate fundraisers.

But the state party here has been rather haughty toward Dean supporters, not boding well for the primary....though I trust most will do their job well.

When the lady asked, I said this is hard day to talk about doing things for the party. I said it was just a sad day, that they had done so much to force out such a great man.

I admit I was a little teary. She did not ask who I meant, she just said yes it is sad day. She did not deny what had happened, almost affirmed it, and said things had to change.

I asked her to call me another day, that I did not feel very Democratic on this day. She sounded choked up as well.

The funny part was not a single name was mentioned except her candidate for Senate. They know. She said she would call again. She was teary by then, and so was I.

3. Aww...I would have done the same.
It really is a sad day.. I'm sure many, many of people feel the same way. I've gotten choked up several times throughout the day. It just wasn't supposed to end like this. :grouphug:

4. Dean wasn't "forced out"
It was Dean's decision to drop out of the race, and before that, it was the peoples decision in the primary states to not vote for Dean. I don't think that they are as independant minded or informed as I would like, but although I feel for anyone who's canidate has not won(I'm a Clark supporter) it's unfair to underhandedly imply conspiracy against the other candidates or the rest of the party.

5. No, you are wrong.
They wanted the nominee like yesterday, and yes he was most certainly hurried along. His supporters within the party were being warned to back off from him.
