what would it be like?
the other day, a DU'er stuck in something less that a blue area wondered what it would be like to be amoung like-minded folk.

today, I wonder what it would be like if we were all sitting here,, nearing the end of President Gore's second term in office. what would we all be thinking, doing? what would the international situation look like?

1. We wouldn't be sitting here.
DU came into being after Sept 11, in response to the unbelievable things that were happening in our country.

We would not need to be underground. We would be out working for a candidate. Those of us who have lost our jobs would be out working.

Maybe we would still be combating people like Rush and Coulter, but it is somewhat likely that our media would have tipped in a direction that is a bit more fair.

I am not sure that we would be using the Internet as our news media if Gore had been allowed to take office.

2. Not paradise but much better. ..
For example, the Iraq War wouldn't have happened, but would Gore developed (or maintained) his passion for protecting the environment if he had to deal with being President and all the responsibilities that come with it?
