Polls Show Clinton Pulling Away from the Pack SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- For the first time in the 2008 Democratic presidential race, a majority of voters surveyed by the Gallup Poll said they like Hillary Clinton, with 13 percent more women than men rating her favorably.
The former first lady is now 21 points ahead of Barack Obama, but that doesn’t mean much to some, including San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris. "There is a lot of movement happening every day around both campaigns and you can't write anything off at this point," she said.
Clinton’s challenge will be getting the large number of women who support her to the polls, according to Ellen Malcolm, president of the women’s political organization Emily’s List. "I think if women come out and vote in this primary process, you're going to see Hillary Clinton win in California and you're going to see that same thing happen all over the country. It is women who are going to make Hillary Clinton the first woman president," said Malcolm.
The most recent survey shows that in California, just as many men as women favor Clinton.
