As a partisan, I looked at tonight objectively, and here's what I saw through my obviously distorted POV:
Joe Biden: He kicked ass, and looks very presidential. His campaign should definitely push his deep foreign relations experience. He'd make a dynamite Sec of State. I loved his comment "Hell, no, I wouldn't support any of these guys"
Dennis: What can I say: I loved everything the guy said, and he projected a more serious image. He's got some pros behind him who distanced him from the UFO thing. Good strong performance. But seriously, Kooch can't close this deal.
John Edwards: what is it with him? I really love his "two Americas" message. Something about him came off strong yet ...off? I appreciate his anti-Hillary attacks but maybe he's not the guy to deliver this message? I dunno.
Richardson: this format is absolutely not his thing. He makes complete sense, is for total withdrawal from the Mideast, Has deep foreign policy experience (Bush owes his ass to this guy for negotiating the peace with Kim Jong-Il)He's got the right idea regarding energy policy and was a crucila advisor in Clinton's cabinet. His licenseing program for undocumented workers has produced real results. What's not to like? I'll tell you what: he's got zero TV presence, which is the opposite of seeing him in real life. Did good, but his numbers won't move I bet.
Dodd: his TVQ is just not there; he comes off like a school principle lecturing a bunch of truants. Deep experience, good ideas, but this race is all about change, and you won't find a more ossified candidate from DC than Dodd.
So that's my take. Of all these guys, I think if there's a need to broker the convention, Biden might come out on top. I mean, I know what he is, and I find much of his corporatist viewpoints annoying, but he's pretty straight up about them. In spite of this, I like him. He's definitely electable.
