Not that I'm against Kerry...but this was posted by a thuglican who is obsessed with painting Kerry as a bad person by some of his propasals...

What I did do was re read my post on John Kerry and found something interesting. John Kerry's attempt to dismantle the military was not done by voting. It was done by introducing legislation!
I have provided the same information showing that John Kerry introduced legislation by himself and without any co sponsors! This is his deal 100%.

Cut the number of Navy submarines and their crews
Reduce the number of light infantry units in the Army down to one
Reduce tactical fighter wings in the Air Force
Terminate the Navy's coastal mine-hunting ship program
Force the retirement of no less than 60,000 members of the Armed Forces in one year.

In 1995, Kerry Proposed A Bill 9Gutting $1.5 Billion From Intelligence Budget. Kerry introduced a bill that would "reduce the Intelligence budget by $300 million in each of fiscal years 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000." His attempts to downsize the military along with his long history of voting against the military shows his feelings clearly on what type of military he believes the United States should have.

It has nothing to do with believing the funds should be better spent elsewhere as some would want us to believe. That is the sound of a liberal trying to cover their butt in a cold winter breeze!

John Kerry has described himself as an anti war candidate. And the military is used when? IN WAR!

Kerry has a long history of voting habits that is not healthy for the United States. In a time when terrorists are looking for any weakness in the United States defense system, we don't need a president who believes, and also attempted to weaken our military.

We could have had a zillion missiles, a billion submarines or whatever, but these things don't stop actions such as hijacking airliners and crashing them. Rethugs and their logic are interesting if not funny.

2. There was a period of time when you

had to reduce the budget in order to use the money elsewhere. Maybe he was on to something. Cut defense and we would think twice about going to war. Maybe some jerky generals would have given pause. The pentagon mislaid trillions that thet cannot account for. I am all in favor of cutting the bloated pentagon budget.

I have read that Kerry tried to introduce those proposals because he would have liked to see the money used elsewhere...

I am not against the military at all...I did some time in the Navy...but my thing is throwing money to defense contractors. I don't think that building more subs, missles, air craft carriers is going to make anyone safer, if you don't take care of the people that join the military whose going to operate all this stuff...???

I'm still looking for info on intellingence budgets but can't find anything...if anyone has info that would help.

4. Good post! I totally agree with Senator Kerry on this too.

Sadly, I think letting 9/11 happen was a pre-emptive strike on the forces of peace. Without an "enemy", the obscene budgets can hardly be justified. I hope true military hero's like Kerry and CLark can lead a credible charge to restructure our budget priorities to reflect the reality of the world today.

While the RW wails on about external security, do they ever stop to think that investing $40 dollars in military expenditures for every $1 it spends on the taxpayers makes us a stronger nation? We only need to see what happened to the USSR with these type of spending priorities.
