Thanks for going after Obama.
That means you are feeling the heat. The man is doing what he has to do.

Let's keep it that way. :)

What does your post mean, though, I wonder? It pokes, perhaps, but does it *persuade*?

4. It's a common ploy
When you're being laughed at, claim the opposition is "feeling the heat". They think we're shaking with fear when we're really shaking with laughter

I feel like pinching his cheek and rubbing his head!

(That said, it doesn't seem to be hurting him any.)

9. Yanno, Katz, I think Obama is doing a good job.. and I'm not kidding...
He's young, he's idealistic, and he's been thrown into the proverbial lion's den. I think he is a man of integrity and worth. I admire him. I am glad he is trying to answer attacks from that other camp and not let them go unchecked. We all have seen what "swiftboating" can do. My concern is that this drags him down somewhat. I dunno, I'm really torn about it. I expect it from HRC, but not Obama. That's absolutely my only complaint.

I'm still undecided - but I would be proud to vote for him if he gets the nomination. That's all :7

13. "doing what he has to do"
does that include welcoming "ex-gay" clowns into his campaign to spew homophobic filth in order to capture some of those sweet, sweet S.C. primary votes?

Feh...Obama is no better than Alan Keyes, for Christ's sake. Pandering for bigot votes...I expected better from a supposedly "progressive" candidate.

18. Is the method of pandering to bigots really the issue?
To me, it seems that the real issue is, do all people, regardless of sexual orientation, have the same legal rights as American citizens.

Hillary doesn't support that, nor does Edwards. Or Obama. Richardson apparently still thinks being gay is a "choice". I believe Dodd and Biden are also in the same camp.

If you're a Kucinich (or Gravel) supporter, and condemning Obama for his association with Donnie McClosetcase, then it's a valid argument.

Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 11:32 PM by FredScuttle
Can I not object to pandering to bigots, no matter whom I support? And, by the way, I'm undeclared.

By the way, why is your guy angling to run with the batshit insane Ron Paul?

22. I didn't assume any such thing
That's why I mentioned ALL the candidates. But it's no secret that most of the Obama-bashing threads are started by the Hillbots.

As for the Ron Paul thing - that was yesterday's flamefest. I said all I'm gonna say on that one, so if you like, you can look it up in one of the 2,000 threads on the subject.

I am in no way supporting Hillary in the primaries. That has nothing to do with my disgust at Obama openly courting an "ex-gay" clown to headling his campaign event.

28. So will you support a candidate who will refuse to recognize
the rights of same sex couples to be married, if they so choose? Or will you support someone who panders to bigots?

And once again, I did not call you a Hillbot or imply that you support Hillary at all.

33. Dennis Kucinich has made his position on gay marriage clear.
Q: You're one of just two candidates who fully supports same-sex marriage. Why do you think that is?

A: This is really a question of whether you really believe in equality. When you understand what real equality is, you understand that people who love each other must have the opportunity to be able to express that in a way that is meaningful, and that the state should not be intervening against people, the state should be there on behalf of people, to make sure that that love has a chance to be facilitated.

Q: So what you're saying is that Senator Obama and Senator Edwards, who sat here just moments ago both espousing equality--are you saying that they don't truly oppose same sex marriage, that they're just playing politics?

A: I'm saying that I stand for real equality and that this is really part of an American tradition because when you look at the founding documents, to me this is a foundational principle of who we are as a country.

Harold Ford is, always was, and always will be a Republican posing as a "Democrat". Obama's not as Liberal as I would hope him to be, but he's considerably to the left of most DLC'ers.

As the chairman of the Democratic party, though, it wouldn't be fair for him to endorse a candidate, so I have no idea how the good doctor will vote in the Vermont primary.

How about that old dude near the end of the piece who says something along the lines of, "imagine that face being the face of our Republic? Wouldn't that be an awesome thing?" Makes me laugh about this whole foreign policy experience BS thing. If average voters in Iowa are allowing themselves to picture the power of an Obama presidency globally, this campaign is in even better shape than I thought.

I didn't know they had it up at YouTube yet -- should've known. And yes, the guy made a super observation!

Iowans are smart enough to get what Obama is saying. They are real people who understand how community works and they can easily see that Obama would
greatly improve America's "brand" in the world community, especially in the Middle East - not only did he oppose the Iraq war from the beginning but his
father was a Muslim.

I have a good feeling about Iowa, too. :-)
