How Edwards could win the nomination
Of course Edwards can win. Iowa is a three way tie at this point. If Edwards wins Iowa, there's no reason to think he couldn't win NH. And if he wins both Iowa and NH, it's completely possible that the momentum switches to him. You can't count Edwards out at this point; anymore than you can count out Obama or Clinton. Clinton is the favorite, but any of the three of them could end up with the nomination.

1. agreed
and even though he's much farther back, I would not count out Biden either.
I agree that Edwards has a leg up, and would be happy if it played out that way.

But with the number of undecideds plus the number who become undecided if the top two mutually destruct, there is just no telling.

In the inimitable words of Yogi Berra:

"It ain't over until its over"

3. I don't think any of the top three can be counted out and
we could even be in for a bigger surprise.

4. could? Edwards will win the nomination
I wrote an essay a few weeks ago that Edwards would win. Clinton was slipping, she saw Obama has her main rival, and just like gravity they would begin attacking each other even with knowing what happened in 2004. Edwards has taken his lumps already, his support will slowly rise and he'll hit a surge in mid-December perfect timing as votes begin to harden. I hope he'll win big in Iowa, but it'll be tight. I think he only needs a good second or close third in NH. I would focus on NV and SC and then quickly move to build greater support for the Feb5th caucus.

5. Very interesting
This must be the sort of post you do from time to time so that when participating in your other posting b ehavior you have something "fair minded" or "positive" to point to. Almost like a penance system. You can hit thread aftet thread after thread (often several times in each thread) with the same negative mantra about Edwards and when someone finally calls you on it you get to proclaim "oh no, I'm fair minded..."

Nice schtick. I wonder if anyone else has noticed it, I would think so as I'm a pretty casual observer of
GDP not having a candidate or much time to play the shit-flinging monkey.

6. LOL!
I write posts like this frequently. Try doing a search. I've written critical things and good things about ALL of the candidates. I've been more critical of Edwards than Obama and more critical of Clinton than either. I've also defended Clinton more than Edwards and Obama. Sorry to confuse black and white thinkers, but them's the facts, pookie. How's all that bitterness taste, btw?

8. yes, I'm just so clever that
I criticize and praise in order to further a secret agenda of ???

Did it ever occur to you that I actually have no agenda and simply write what I believe about the candidates?

Nah, that's too simple.

For some of you, if you hear hoofbeats on Central Park West at midnight, it's always a zebra and never a horse.

Whatever.
