Republicans have Criminalize MOST Legal Immigration!
This country was built on the sweat an blood of Immigrants and immigrant labor, and it is STILL needed in this country.
Why that is still the case, I don't know, you tell me, but the fact is, this country doesn't function properly without low paid, hard working Immigrants, who come to America to make a better life for their families. That "Land of Opportunity" SHOULD still be available to everyone who wants it.
ALL of my Grand-parents were Immigrants (2 Irish Catholic, 1 French (American) Jew , 1 German non-citizen Jew) who came here legally, thanks to laws that were on the books at the time, some of which I don't think still apply, so this whole "Illegal Immigrant" BS really pisses me off.
So, you might ask, how have the Republicans Criminalize Immigration in America?
Well it didn't happen all at once, here's how they did it this time (they did it in the 1930's too):
By pushing for more and more Federal Tax Cuts (and then spending any savings those achieved on unnecessary Wars)!
By doing this they have (1) systematically under funded the Immigration and Naturalization Federal infrastructure of this country, which caused the time it takes to get the legal papers to enter this country legally unreasonably long and also cause those re-applying to renew their Legal status to become Illegal as they wait for paperwork to get processed.
These Tax Cuts also led to (2) the Corporate take over of American Farming, which in turn destroyed American Family Farms (by eliminating family members who go into farming) which left America without enough farm workers, which then necessitated the import of large numbers of foreign Farm workers from South and Central America, which became a problem due to point #1.
These extreme Tax Cuts have also encouraged Corporations to "out-source" GOOD American Jobs overseas, which has left us here only lower wage Jobs, which has in turn made it harder or completely impossible to send our kids to college, which then in turn causes the U.S. to have import more highly educated Immigrants to fill the jobs we can no longer fill with highly educated American, which causes more of an immigration backlog, etc, etc.
I could keep going on about all the negative effects of excessive Tax Cutting causes, but I hope you can see where I'm going with this cause and effect relationship, feel free to fill in any other areas I missed. There are plenty.
Other secondary effects are things like the Prison Industrial Complex and the dumbing down of America.
Then, to cover up the the fact that these excessive tax cuts (which they have been pushing for since the Regan-era) are actually destroying America, they turn around and use their Corporate Controlled so-called MSM to blame the "Illegal Immigrants" and "The Poor," for the problems Excessive Tax Cutting has caused.
So my question to all of you is, How do we fix this? And by "this" I mean the Grand Delusion that MORE Tax Cuts are a "Good for America!"
I'm sure I left a lot out in this equation, so fill in the holes as you see fit.
Discuss.
