I Can't Wait Until the Primaries Are Over and We Can Focus All Our Attention on the GOP.
Any of our Democrats are AOK with me.

I've grown really tired of the banter here between the campaigns within our party. I know it is part of the process, but so much of it is really just tedious and borders on juvenile name calling.

I am looking forward to when we can all unite against the real enemy of progress, the real enemy of social, economic, environmental justice: the Republican Party and their ilk.

So, have at it, but keep in mind that at some point we will all be together again and please, save some of your best arrows for the real target.

1. They'll never get a free ride from me...
I aim just as many arrows their way as in any other direction. And they're usually wickedly sharp and barbed besides.

2. Your common sense approach has no place here in GD-P.

3. Me too.
It will be nice to see all
the energy devoted to tearing
down the Democratic candidates
put towards tearing down the
repuke candidate.

4. Don't delude yourself - we'll have the "Not compromising myself" third party voters showup
I love how they'll claim all these great values even though voting 3rd party only enables the republican party.

5. Not deluded. I'm fully aware that the "not compromising" element will exist.
Sadly, it always seems to exist and that is one reason so much of the infighting here is not just obnoxious, it also may cement some into postions that they will be proud to ever "compromise" over. Let's hope it is less this time around, LS.

6. Those statements are pretty much relevant only in re: HRC
The people that I've seen with that position only say it regarding Clinton. In that light, you have to ask, if she elicits that big of a reaction from those on our side, is she really the best candidate after all?
The point I'm making is that we need a nominee that can get those most enthusiastic support from most of us, not one that many in our own party are violently opposed to.
Then again, the argument of only Hillary or a Republican is a false dichotomy. It's forcing a false choice on us before a single primary or caucus has begun, and I find that very peckerheadish.
If someone other than HRC gets the nomination, I bet those folks will immediately close ranks with us and support that nominee.

7. You have to ask yourself - is DU representative of the Democratic Party?
If it was - Howard Dean would be president right now.

I find the HRC bashers nothing more than people drinking the grape kool-aid being served by the right-wing for the last 15-20years.

Do I want Hillary as my nominee? No. Am I'm drinking the grape kool-aid? Hell no - I'd rather fight for my candidate but if she's nominated it's time to work for her

13. How sad that you would feel the need to inject an
anti Clinton bash into a thread like this.

14. Keep in mind that Clinton has always been the front runner
That factors into this. Attacks are always concentrated on the front runner because unless the front runner is somehow brought down the race is over. That isn't the only reason for all of the anti-Clinton posts at DU by any means, but it would be naive to not recognize that dynamic at play.

24. She's certainly been hammered a lot lately.
If she gets through all this, she will be a better candidate.

Tom, you have been so concerned with the march toward war by Bush and Cheney for a long time -- more so than most all here -- so I imagine you must feel vindicated in the recent news that Bush and Cheney have known for a long time that Iran had stopped their weapon program four years ago and these creeps and these creeps were once again lying through their teeth to scare the country into war.

Joe Lieberman certainly played his role to fear-mongering and putting the country close to war also with the Kyle/Lieberman Resolution. I see that the media, as of yet, has not grilled him on his intentions. Do you have the first draft of his resolution? I bet that would be revealing.

25. Oh, I think that she'll survive!!!
She'll be a little bruised, but she's survived far worse things than a challenge by fellow Democrats.

20. why shouldn't people
be able to vote their conscience? We should be angry with those who sit it out on election day. If every single one of us voted for our true values, for what we really want, instead of settling for less (in the name of conforming to corporate media determined "electibility") the elections would look pretty different.

I have not been a third party voter - but I understand it. If the Democrats didn't consistently give us dreadful nominees, there would be no big 3rd part peel off.

9. Until Iowa...
there's really nothing left to discuss. Everybody knows the candidates and what they stand for. Now we're just Biden our time with Hillarity and Obaminations. It's all very Edwardian.

11. You missed a couple of potential candidate puns:
"Rock and Roll, Koochy Koo" for one. Go on, Gravel at my feet, for the Riqster is also a Punster!

(If I were REALLY good, I'd have one for Richardson.)

15. Yep.
Some of the gutter tactics that people backing various candidates are resorting too are sad. They reflect a lack of insight into what campaigning can and should be about during the primary season. There is an encouraging tendency for DUers to reject such ugly tactics, and we see some of the folks who have been using them are now trying to back away, if only slightly, by saying they really like the candidates they have been smearing, or that in 1932, their first choice was so-and-so. It would be great if more of us focus on positive messages, and ignore the negative, during the primary season.
