Biden and Richardson Will Surprise The "First-Tier" In Iowa
http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071129/NEWS/711290394/1001/NEWS

This is an article that you may have missed. Sen. Biden was interviewed and said that he believes a second-tier candidate will rise.

1. I hope so...
I like all the so called "second tier" candidates, and I am hoping for Biden to do extremely well in Iowa.

3. If so, they will surprise me too.
I prefer either of them to any of the the big three.

4. Richardson should beat out Edwards, if Biden does too that's a 5th place fini for Johnny
Obama will win big with all those Oparah viewers and bus loads of Illinois kids he's bringing in to caucus - 30%, Clinton will get the traditional Iowa caucus goers - 25%, and if Biden and Richardson split the 'looking for someone new' vote with 15-20% each, Edwards might pull a whopping 15% tops.
Richardson/Biden '08!

5. I'm very interested in a Biden-Richardson ticket
because foreign policy is THE ISSUE we face today thanks to 8 years of mind-numbing blunders. These two have experience and sensibility and their plans can actually be enacted. And we will make history with a latino VP from the west. If anyone cares, I would love to put another Catholic in the white house. (2 in fact)

8. I'm pretty sure both are basically secularists...
...so I really don't care what their nominal religion is.

9. I know for a fact neither of them will inject religion into policy
but they are Catholic and go to Catholic churches, and I want Catholics and Hispanics to vote Democratic.

Neither of these guys will have to give the speech that Mitt had to give.

11. I agree. I just hope the bishops don't stab them in the back...
...the way they did to Kerry.

6. Good Article
I too, believe that Biden and/or Richardson will do better in Iowa than is expected. I think people are starting to look at the second-tier candidates because they have grown tired of the bickering between members of the top tier. I also believe that voters are beginning to think about the "issues." They may see that experience really does count for something.

10. Obama/Richardson 08
Kos of Daily Kos said this week that in the Dem primary "now, there is no 2nd tier."

I like Richardson, but he has not proven to be a good campaigner. He will be a good VP to offset Obama's limited experience and to help attract the Latino and Southwest US votes.

16. The amount of experience among Biden, Dodd and Richardson
compared to the "top-tier" candidates is really stunning. Why aren't these positions reversed?

Biden and Richardson have been making a lot of sense on foreign policy and they have the experience to back up their opinions. It is crimimal how the media has contributed to their marginilizaiton. I remember watching one debate where Biden owned the discussion, only to have the Talking Heads that followed never even mention his name. I wish them both well.
