10. I would rather Edward's plan over Hillary. He pits Medicare in direct competition with private healt
Medicare would eat alive any private entity on costs alone.

13. Thing is Hillary's Plan=Edwards Plan
Between the lines, they're the same plan.

Difference is, I expect Hillary to get Health Care through. She has a grudge here...

11. Hillary will work with the Insurance companies .. huge mistake. Edwards'
plan is by far the best .. next to Kucinich.

7. Of course he isn't.
Obama likes the word "change," not the actual concept.

12. Except for Kucinich
All of the candidates are for some bulleted plan that stays safely within the for profit system. How any of these plans emerge from the meat-grinder of congress is anyone's guess. With public funds required to grease the skids, I think that the need for oversight is never going to be satisfied. A bonanza for the profit-greedy existing system. Besides, there are a number of elements that go into the setting of the rates. I can see at least 3 places where it will child's play for the insurance giants to manipulate the numbers: the profit and loss numbers, the reserves (both claims and company reserves,) and at the regulatory commissions themselves. psst! Who do you think will be hand-picked to sit on that board? Oh, and don't forget, the profit margin is built into the rates.

I can understand why candidates wanted to say the words "Universal Heathcare" without rocking the boat. However, I believe that as the years go by, we will stop, look around, and say "My God, what have we done?"

Note: I have no candidate that I support. I do support single-payer and I know why.

15. You don't KNOW he doesn't know,
and if he's speaking on behalf of Obama, he should be corrected by the campaign if he's got it wrong.

17. This is a surprise?
Only Kucinich is for single payer now. Obama is for single payer in principle, but doesn't think it can be done directly. I favor Kucinich's plan over Obama's and anybody else's. But nobody has ever claimed that I have seen that Obama has single payer as a platform point.

19. "The campaign says Obama has consistently supported single payer health care in principle."
Obama said he would support a single-payer health plan for Illinois "in principal" , "although such a program will
probably have to be instituted at a federal level; the long-term objective would be a universal care system that does not
differentiate between the unemployed, the disabled, and so on." The campaign says Obama has consistently supported
single payer health care in principle.

Under single-payer health care, a government system would replace private health insurance. Obama's campaign said
he has always supported the idea in concept, but thinks it is not currently practical because of the existing health care
infrastructure.

Obama has said in press interviews that he would be willing to transition into single-payer health care from his present
health care plan. By the way, neither Obama's, Hillary's or Edwards' plan is single-payer. Only Kucinich has offered such
a plan.
