Subject: Good News - Progressive President Takes Office In Argentina

Why good news? Because it tells us that, indeed, we can turn the world upside down, and what's more that we can do it peacefully. Turn it upside down, that is, if a two decade struggle in which tens of thousands of Argentina's best and brightest were slaughtered by that country's fascist military government qualifies as such. And the toll would have been even higher had it not been for the heroic women of the white handkerchiefs, who by putting their lives on the line shamed the generals into backing down. So in her inaugural address the day before yesterday, in which President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner gave words of praise for the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, who only two decades ago had been treated like pariahs, how's that for turning the world upside down? Way to go, Argentina.
