Sorry Hillary, I Don't Buy It
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 12:54 PM by proudmoddemo
I know that one should accept apologies. I know Obama probably personally accepted your apology. But I still don't buy your apology.

Am I to believe that your campaign chair in New Hampshire, and the husband of a former Governor, woke up yesterday and said, "I think I will plant the seed of Obama as a drug dealer in the Washington Post this morning." Sorry, somebody that senior doesn't talk to the media without the authorization and approval of the campaign. Unless, your campaign is truly incompetent (which is possible). So you're either running a spectacularly incompetent campaign, or you're pinning the fallout from a bombed mistake on a fall guy. Either way, it reminds me of you know who.

I've had enough of incompetent Presidents that don't adequately take responsibility for their actions.

I believe that the tactic used yesterday was deliberate. I believe it was a smear that used the Karl Rove tactic of planting a BS notion in people's minds by asking a question about it. You not only need to apologize to Obama, you need to apologize to our party for the despicable tactics of your campaign. And ultimately, these statements have your name on them.

Finally, any apology offered for the offensive remarks that came out of your campaign is kind of hollow as long as Billy Shaheen is still one of the most important people in it...

2. It's an LBJ tactic as much as anything. Rove didn't invent politics.

5. Has Obama apologized to HIllary yet for his top staffer
that kept trying (and is probably still trying) to plant a story about Bill's post W.H. sexual activities?

Obama can do whatever he wants without the press, or anyone else, calling him out on his dirty campaign tactics.

6. Has Hillary Said This Yet?
"Although I was not aware of the contents of the memo prior to its distribution, I consider the entire campaign -- and in particular myself -- responsible for the mistake," Barack Obama June 19, 2007.

Doesn't sound like it to me.

8. I agree with the OP...
Dems need to SERIOUSLY examine whether Hillary would be the best candidate to represent US in 2008. Even a lot of her supporters aren't saying that Clinton didn't do this...because everybody KNOWS her campaign did authorize it. I'm more shocked by the so-called Dems who are acting as apologists for this trash.

10. Gee...it's good to know only Obama staffers have something on Bill Clinton...

Got a link to your allegation?

Better yet, you know that books about the Clintons is a billion dollar industry. Why do you think someone like Rupert Murdoch, who has practically boundless publishing properties, wants Hillary to be in the race?

7. Hell who cares
I think the American Idol candidate sucks and I don't buy that campaign but what difference does it make he jump and bump anyway.

Now Hillary Clinton, best damn choice there is for President and the country knows it. She beat the pants off any republican.

13. ugh -- can't beeeelive i'm in one of these threads, but -- any links to Obama refutations?
i'm in Florida, so i don't have a primary vote, so my ONLY concern is that we get a candidate in the General Election that can beat the rethugs. if Obama can't refute these charges now, he's going to sink us in the GE. so, the question is -- how does he answer this? is it going to be effective enough to win in Nov?

god, i don't want to go thru another "i didn't inhale" episode.

15. From June:
"Although I was not aware of the contents of the memo prior to its distribution, I consider the entire campaign -- and in particular myself -- responsible for the mistake," Barack Obama June 19, 2007 after the Indian memo debacle.

11. I don't buy it either. This was done by the Hillary campaign.
This is how she'll govern, I guarantee you. Something nasty will be done, and she'll play the victim, like she's not even in charge of her administration. Because apparently, she is not even in charge of her campaign, with all these mean people doing things behind her back. :sarcasm:

The arrogance of power in my opinion, and one of the worst things about the Bush administration. This has me seriously considering not voting for Hillary in the general election...

16. Lawyer's trick:
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 01:38 PM by rateyes
Make a statement in front of the jury you know is out of bounds, and then just as the word "object" starts coming from the mouth of opposing counsel, declare the statement "withdrawn."

Can't unring a bell. You get to say it, and then look "sorry" for saying it. Win, win for the trickster.
