I ran and attended the Hillary delegate caucus at a Union Hall in Brentwood, NH. No, I didn't win but this isn't about me.
It's about the incredible group of people who came out in 10 degree weather to vote for our delegates this summer in Denver. All the winners won't go of course as the primary is not winner take all.
The 18 year old woman who got most votes is an awesome kid that skipped her first semester of college to volunteer in the Manchester office. She holds the record for most calls in one day (800).
All of us gave a 30 second speech in which time we can tell our life story. Some of the people came with entire campaign staffs, stickers, buttons, fliers and more. I brought little old NewHampster.
I opened my 30 seconds my saying, "I'm Dennis Kucinich and I'm running for president". Got a good laugh but not enough to turn the vote.
Those who one, were not the ones with signs and fliers. They were a teacher and leader of one of the unions, a teacher couple (man and wife) from Exeter, a young 1st term state rep, a dedicated nurse, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who all believe Hillary is the best bet for the future of this country and world.
and then I learned that as a party official (Vice Chair of my town committee) I may be able to run again in April as an at large delegate. Yeah, like I'll win against the Gov. Senate president and all the others.
All the campaigns were having the same gig in towns in our two congressional districts. Just a fun and eye opening day.
