Well, I've made up my mind.
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 09:53 AM by yibbehobba
Obama.

Having been an early-on supporter of Richardson, this is not an easy thing to say. I've always liked Obama, but his campaign organization in Iowa and New Hampshire convinced me that my main concern - that he didn't know how to run a bureaucracy - was ill-founded. I'm not about to get into the GD: P mudslinging over candidates. I don't give a damn about that. I'd just like to send my congratulations to the Obama supporters for having run the first serious Presidential campaign during my lifetime that doesn't make me want to choke on my own vomit. Y'all are truly an inspiration.

6. Yes! yibbehobba is trafe and must be cleansed!
Seriously, why do various candidate supporters here feel like this kind of sniping is valuable?

Why couldn't you, Evergreen Emerald, have simply said, "I oppose Obama because..." and enumerated the things that have left you disaffected with Obama's candidacy? Obama's not my first, choice, but I like him. Maybe I shouldn't like Obama as much as I do, but I all learned from your post is that you think yibbehobba has low standards.

Thanks for your post. :sarcasm:

17. There's no need to apologise.
I know things can get confrontational in here. It's the nature of primaries. No worries.

16. She's entitled to her opinion...
...and I don't hold it against her. I'm sure Obama is every bit as slimy as every other goddamn politician. I don't mind the slime, and I never have. I wouldn't fiddle around with politics if I *did* mind it. As far as I'm concerned, Obama has done a very good job of expressing a set of core values that closely mirror mine when it comes to the US in the early 21st century. And his campaign has convinced me that he knows how to turn ideas into action.

2. I agree yibbehobba
There is something very inspirational about his campaign. Unlike many here, I am not a Hillary hater. She is a gutsy and smart woman who has worked her ass off but her campaign has let her down in a huge way. The Obama/drug tactic was pathetic. The contrast between the two campaigns is remarkable.

18. I actually like Hillary...
...though I really, really despise her campaign. It's been a freaking nightmare. So much wasted potential. There was a time when I would have wholeheartedly supported her for the nomination, but not now. At this point it feels like she's running the most expensive vanity campaign in the history of Presidential politics. It's really been a disappointment.

9. Better choice than Mrs. Inevitability but.....
I think Edwards is running on a more Liberal platform.

15. I like Edwards and his message...
...however, I've always been very nervous about his actual ability to *deliver* on his message. Weird synchronicity, I was an early Edwards supporter in 2004 who ended up with no candidate in that race due to the same sort of apprehension about his abilities.

10. Good choice.
Like you my first choice was (for me it still is) Richardson. But among the top 3 I've always liked Obama best, and if I have to vote strategically he will get my vote.

20. I really wish I could continue supporting Richardson...
...but his campaign is falling apart, and I don't see any way to resurrect it at this point. It's saddening, I really hope he gets a high level appointment if we win in '08.

Great choice with Barack Obama!

This is going to be a wild ride, but the World and our country will be smiling when Barack takes the oath of office as President on January 20, 2009.

14. I would very much like to see Richardson in any dem administration.
I actually think he'd make an exceptional SoS. His campaign thus far has been disappointing, but that doesn't detract from his other accomplishments.

27. Richardson is terrific on policy
I am so surprised at what a lousy campaigner he turned out to be. He certainly will be valuable in somebody's administration though.

Be sure and read some of Obama's policy papers and speeches on his web site. He has a lot of good ideas that don't get any attention. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
