Just got an email update from a Ron Paul supporter re: money bomb
From the time the sun rose till noon (EST) today, the money has been coming into the campaign at $270K per hour. This in no big money from mega rich. This is roughly $100 average per person.

No I am not a Ron Paul supporter. There are a bunch of them in our IMPEACH group and one of them just sent this out. No link, but if this is true, it's absolutely amazing.

1. There are lots of racists, anti-choicers and other idiots with disposable income
It really isn't that much of a surprise.

2. Does anyone find the the Ron Paul support...
...a bit cultish? I'm all for supporting your candidate, but they seem to take it to the extreme sometimes...

7. Yes, he's very decisive among my progressive groups... some are
becoming really hard to take these days... If one thing gets posted against Repugs... I get this smattering back of replies from the Paulies saying its all rigged and the parties are the same.... Well, some people are bought in the system (too many), but there are some good ones out there. And these are the same people who would blast against repugs before. Also, I find the supporters are people who have been activists for a long time and have been let down so often that they are sick of any govt... so his ideas of out of Iraq, getting rid of the IRS and the Feds, and smaller libertarian govt is appealing to them... They are forgetting that they are the govt and we should control it.... I could be wrong, but I think its going to be a lifetime of work to get things in order... economy, workers rights, civil liberties, education, and local, state, federal, and judicial branches to be evened out...

9. He has support from the anti-war community
But what I have discovered is the activists more likely to support him are the ones who haven't worked in many campaigns before and aren't active in party politics.

14. It depends.. there are young people who are being swayed.. but
the people who are really driving the local effort here are people who have been in it for a while. They are activists by living and they have been in it so long that any new person joining a group or posting they are automatically skeptical and start wondering if they are there to infiltrate the group... Paranoid to a tee and off the grid as much as possible.... Most of these people refuse to use banks and c.c. I try to stay away from these people who are so gloom and doom. They tend to bring me down. But usually have great advice for alt. remedies.

11. Let me say first, that I am NOT a Ron Paul supporter
I know what the Libertarian platform means for this country, and while some things like drug legalization, and an end to foreign wars would be cool, the other side of the platform would involve the complete privatization of things even Bush would never consider privatizing. The fairy tale of the "free market" is their excuse, but they fail to realize that predatory capitalism makes an actual free market impossible..

What attracts people to Paul is that he's not afraid to speak the truth when it comes to this bullshit "war on terra" including Iraq, and 9-11. Millions of people have legitimate questions about these things, and none of the mainstream candidates are addressing them.

Unfortunately, not all of those people understand what Paul is really about. Who do we have who can address their legitimate questions AND bring in their votes?

But so does Kucinich and I am still firmly in his camp.

6. Don't know anything about that
I don't belong to any groups where Romney supporters post.

And if you want to dismiss this Ron Paul furor, go right ahead. I am thinking that in a few short weeks they just might be shopping for a new candidate, and any Democratic candidate fits into their agenda far better than any Republican.

8. Can, will, and already have dismissed the Ron Paul furor.

He's just another LaRouche, and his supporters the same deluded cultists.

12. They are some passionate
people. It does seem very fanatical to me and I've been trying to talk some sense into some that are left-leaning but still believe the laissez-faire capitalism lies, but they are glossing over this part quite a bit. I personally believe the dems will be up against McCain or Paul in the general.
