Challenge to Kucinich-tzens! Tell us all about your guy!

With the caucuses looming, I think it is time to refresh everyone's memory about the various candidates in a positive fashion.

So I ask Kucinich supporters to post the various accomplishments, stances & campaign platforms that make their candidate the guy to vote for.

Please save sniping at other candidates and/or their supporters for another thread. There are dozens of them in GDP for you to choose from.

We did these a couple of months ago and I think they went quite well. Let's try to repeat that.

Dennis gets the 1st crack because he was robbed from participating in the last Iowa debate.

After that, everyday I will post a thread for one of the candidates. I am going to go by alphabetical order so my thread tomorrow will be for the Biden Bunch.

* He has consistently opposed the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq.

* He has consistently supported impeachment of both Cheney and Bush, and has proposed articles of impeachment against Cheney.

* He has consistently supported full, equal marriage and consistently opposed "marriage lite" proposals such as domestic partnership and civil union.

* He refuses to pander to the Talibangelicals.

* He refuses to pander to Big Pharma, Big Agro, Big Tobacco and other major business conglomerates that control the agenda in Congress.

4. I'm supporting Edwards but DK is closest to what I'd prefer

Kucinich's stance on the issues is based in the form of mainstream liberalism that had such an important role in creating and maintaining the middle class, and providing a safety net for the disadvantaged.

For example, he is the one candidate who is proposing the health-care plan that could actually make a positive difference: Single-payer universal coverage based on care rather than profit.

Sure that may sounmd pie-in-the-sky or too "radical, at first glance. But Kucinich has it all thought out, and can counter -- with details -- almost every argument thrown out against such an approach.

Remember Medicare, Social Security and other programs that became mainstream applications of liberal/progressive ideals? Those programs and policies and values that had a major role in creating the basis of a reasonable, decent society? That's the kind of Democrat that Kucinich is.

8. It took me some time to come around on single payer.

But that is where I sit right now.

5. Kucinich-a man of conviction

1. As Mayor of Cleveland, he wouldn't cave into the banks who wanted him to sell the public utilities. It cost him re-election, but time proved him to be right. IMHO, this shows his good judgment and courage to stand by his convictions.

2. He has always been against the Iraq War. His voting record shows this.

3. He has always been for maintaining the Constitution. His votes against the Patriot Act shows this.

4. He doesn't just make proposals-he acts on them. He has introduced bills on health care and on impeaching Cheney, for example.

5. Strength Through Peace means using diplomacy. He has gone to the Middle East to personally assess the situation there and to start a dialog with the region's leaders.

The man walks his talk. He tries to do what he feels is best for ALL people. He has my vote.

he probably would have recieved some nice kickbacks and maybe a job or two from the banks he sold it to. I wonder how many politicians would have not even thought about it and sold off the utilities. Heck you can even explain it to the citizens as to why you did it and most would not even fault you

dennis is the only true progressive and he has a reasonable procedure to change the course of this country, otherwise he has`t a chance in hell to win. that does`t matter to me because i believe in his full glass message yet i`m afraid i will have to settle for only half. yes his wife is beautiful in spirit and as intelligent as he is what a wonderful first lady she would make.

There's a lot that I admire about her too!

Most women I know who are my age identify with her.
I don't know why they don't play up that angle.

they vote on other issues like...electability, whatever that is? Its strange, I really dont get what the main issues are in this election, what are the priorities in the election?

The issues influencing me are:

1 The constitution and our basic rights, without them, nothing else really matters.
2 The illegal war that had no evidence, why did those who voted for it, vote for it? What was their agenda?
3 Impeachment, why are the rest going along with these criminals, is it because they supported the agenda in 2002 and are a part of it?
4 Non profit health care for all.
5 I want someone in the white house that truly speaks for me, not the corporations.
