SIOUX CITY, Iowa — It is rare to find someone who does not hold a strong opinion about Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Some see a tough, smart woman who has withstood the rigors of public life, with all of its Rush Limbaugh-style indignities.

In her own words: "I offer my credentials, my experience and my qualifications, which I think uniquely equip me to be prepared to hit the ground running on day one. And I offer the experience of being battle tested in the political wars here at home. For 15 years, I have been the object of the Republican attack machine, and I'm still here."

Others see the annoying girl from high school — the one with her hand continually in the air, the teacher wrapped around her finger.

To supporters, she is a candidate of conviction who has been maligned in the rough-and-tumble of partisan politics.

"I believe in my heart she can turn things around," said Dave Peterson of Council Bluffs, "and not only in this country but worldwide." Peterson said he will stand up for Clinton at the caucuses.

To others, Clinton will do anything to climb the political ladder.
