"That's like having a president named Darnell" . . .
Back in 1984, comedian Marsha Warfield (whatever happened to her?) expressed amazement that we had just gotten our first black Miss America - an amazing, wonderful, exciting thing.

"We have a Miss America named VANESSA! That's like having a president named DARNELL."

Well, fast forward 23 years and we have since had several black Miss Americas - so many that hardly anyone pays attention anymore.

And now, we are watching as a black man runs neck and neck for the presidency, and could very well win. And his name is not Bill or Dick or Harry or Ron or George or Jack- it's BARACK OBAMA. You don't even have to look at him to know what time that is . . .

I wonder what Marsha Warfield would have to say about THIS?
