11. Obama wants a police state
Edited on Wed Dec-19-07 12:23 PM by mac2
He voted Yea many times supporting Bush appointments, etc. He was picked by the Chicago Tribune (Bob Novak writer on this newspaper) as a candidate. The Tribune bought the LA Times silencing the liberals. It is a Nazi type newspaper. It is barely surviving in the Democratic City of Chicago today.

Obama gives a good speech (what we want to hear) but is a dangerous man. He lacks good judgment and experience as a leader. This is a man given opportunities in a democratic country only to turn against it. He's much like Colin Powell. Trash the Constitution type arrogance.

When Obama gave his "terrorist fear speech" on CSPAN I knew whose side he was on...the elite constant war Neo Cons. If he's so concerned over terrorism why not investigate 911 properly? Why not protect our ports and keep them from foreign control? Why close Coast Guard stations and cut their budget?

Why make government smaller when we need more than ever to protect ourselves not just from invasion but our food supply, bad intelligence controlled from the White House, foreign country agenda for their best interests not ours, products full of lead, bad manufacturing mistakes, etc.

Computers (Apple laptops) made in 3rd world countries may be trying to ruin our communication because they are full of errors and malfunctions. We make them slaves why would they not want to destroy us? There is no accountability or quality control as they enter our markets.

Obama has been part of the Senate why has he not done the job he now says he will do if elected President? Not a peep. He even failed to show up for important votes. He's self serving.

Obama has betrayed the citizens of Illinois and his country. No support or vote coming from me for this man.

14. More fucking nonsense.
He is not a friend to the neocons. He does not want a police state. Nothing in his history indicates that at all. And why are you comparing his with Powell, with who he has nothing in common, but one thing? That stinks of bigotry.

19. Look it up
and get his speech about terrorism from CSPAN. Look at his voting record.

Just because the media like him should make you listen up. Being a black man is no reason to vote for him. I won't vote for Hillary either. They are globalists. They don't believe in borders or the Constitution. Where have you been?

15. So, you are saying that all those who voted to renew want a police state?
The renewed bill had many things from the original bill fixed. The alternative was really no Patriot bill or the bill exactly as Feingold and most other Democrats wanted it. Had the new bill fialed to pass the old - WORSE bill would have been extended again. The bill as voted was what people like Leahy, Kennedy, Kerry etc thought was the best they were going to get. It was voted in and they immediately filed an amendment for how they wanted to fix it when they had enough support to do so - remember that would take 67 votes, which they still don't have (or 60 with a good President).

So, would you rather still be under the old bill OR be under the new? As to NO Patriot bill, there are good parts of it like the international money laundering one - written after the rock was lifted by the BCCI hearings. Global movement of money for global criminal or terrorist networks is a real problem.

20. Patriot Act
like President Adam's Sedition Act is unconstitutional. It is a police state like bill. Citizens don't have rights.

Where is a Jefferson like man anyway?

Democrats promised us our rights back. Instead they take more rights away. What is that about but a police state?

27. You have to keep in mind that there could be other items...
tied in with those and the vote could have been affected by the side items. You would need to see them all laid out so you could read each one for what it was.

even though the correct answer was laid out in front of them. Either they're too dumb to realize the correct answer, or they're just imposters here to disrupt.

Obama's overall record and his statements are certainly the most progressive of the three leading candidates. (Exception: Edwards gets the nod for his anti-corporate courage.)
