Poll question: Informal poll: YOUR CHOICE FOR DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT
Just curious about how DUers are feeling about all this today.

(n.b.: Gore isn't included because as of today he's still not running.)

So... In alphabetical order (to avoid any hint of bias):

1. John Edwards for me.
Edited on Sun Dec-23-07 11:42 AM by Old Crusoe
Happy in degrees with all 8, however, and with none of the Pukes.

That said, I'm drawn to Edwards' emphasis on domestic issues, and especially with his preparation and energy of commitment.

On New Orleans, for example: Edwards gets it; Bush abandoned it.

In a general election, I feel an Edwards-at-the-top ticket is more competitive in redder regions.

36. Edwards/Biden or Edwards/Dodd should be the ticket!
Although, I also think Dodd as Majority Leader would be great.

37. Hi, Tennessee Gal. I like all three of those people. If John Edwards
is not the nominee, I'll be disappointed but if either of the others there are instead, I'm still in the hunt to defeat as many Republicans as possible.

I don't hate Harry Reid but would welcome Dodd or Dick Durbin for the Majority Leader's role. I think Reid will be challenged for the 111th Congress, in any case.

94. For the past several hundred votes, the percentages have amazingly remained the same:
Edwards 42%

Obama 15%

Biden 14%

Kucinich 13%

Clinton 12%

The rest at 1%

97. Interesting.....a lot of Edwards supporters......I'm a
Hillary supporter, but all year I have had this feeling that Edwards will win in Iowa, followed by Hillary and Obama.

My husband and I have made a bet, he thinks Hillary/Huckabee, I bet Edwards/Romney.

It should be interesting......I have a feeling Obama's numbers will turn out to be a lot like his candidacy.....more hype than substance...but of course I could be wrong..............

Frankly, I am sooooo sick of Iowa, can't wait till it's over.................

Good luck to all of them!

98. I'm on your side...
on the Edwards/Romney race idea. I hope your husband's wrong, because a Hillary/Huckabee contest would cause me to lose all interest. And I also agree about Obama - all hype, no substance.

Meanwhile, I join you in wishing all the candidates well in Iowa.

Happy new year to you and yours, at least, we won't have to worry about the idiot in the WH attacking Iran, I hope.....that was one of my major concerns in 2008!

November 2008, will be the year of the democrats!! "POWER TO THE PEOPLE"

102. Thank you.
Sorry you've gotten flames. Unfortunately some of the people on DU go around flaming others who support a different candidate. In fact, I think there are a relative handful who spend all their time here doing nothing like that. IOW, if you haven't been targeted by one of them yet, you just haven't spent enough time here.

I find the "ignore" button quite useful in these situations.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

I'm dreaming of a new Camelot in White House. Maybe it's our time, at long last.

109. Polls like this really need an "Undecided" option
Because honestly at this moment I still am. The only certainly at the moment is that I will be choosing one of those names in November. There's going to be a lot of sore losers...candidate and supporter alike...around once this thing wraps up, but I sincerely hope that all who have voted so far will think the same.

Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 09:53 AM by Seabiscuit
This is primary season, not the general election. It's time for us to decide who we'll vote for in the primaries. Iowa is just a day away.

If you're still undecided by the time your state's primary comes around, will you simply stay away from the voting booth?

This poll is about seeing who DU favors in the primaries among those who've made up their minds. It assumes the undecideds won't vote in this poll.
