Hillary would be the oldest democratic nominee in 150 years
Democratic voters usually prefer youth and energy to wisdom and experience. Every Democratic president since James Buchanan has taken office by 60, with all but two 55 or younger. Obama at 46 is closer to the norm than Biden at 65, Dodd at 63 or Richardson and Clinton at 60.

James Buchanan
Fifteenth President
1857-1861

2. Women are mentally and physically younger than men of the same age.
Our arteries aren't as hard and we can do better exercise routines.

Which, I suppose, sort of makes up for centuries of mythology about men aging better because their beards keep their jowls from falling on their necks.

Under these circumstances, I'm VOTING for the most qualified candidate running. That would be Hillary Clinton!

Clinton is NOT the most qualified candidate running. She MIGHT be arguably the most qualified among the media-anointed "front-runners". There's no way Clinton can reasonably claim to be more qualified than Richardson, Biden or Dodd.

I am an Obama supporter and I have been following him since the 2004 convention like alot of people. It's just time for something different guys. Edwards and Clinton are not it. They cannot move or motivate or inspire the mass of people that Obama can. They cannot bring people over from the repulican an independant side in the way Obama can. I think Edwards is a decent guy and if he wins the nomination, I'll vote for him. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen though. I cant say the same about Hillary though. I would not vote or I would write in Obama.

37. Because I don't have a life, did some number crunching
Starting with A. Lincoln (first Republican president), compared the age of presidents at the time each first took office. The average age for Republican POTUS: 55; Democrats: 52.

Not exactly a youth vs age contest.

Another couple of factors: Until well into the 20th century, 60 was old age. Today it's the high side of middle age. Also, from womb to tomb, women are in general healthier than men and live longer.

So if the implication is Senator Clinton is too old to be POTUS, sorry she isn't, but thanks for playing.

54. To set the record straight I went back and listed birthdate and taking office
Three presidents were under 50
Clevland 48
John F. Kennedy 44
Bill Clinton 47

Jefferson 58
Madison 58
Van Buren 56
Polk """""""65""""""
Bucahanan """"""66"""""
Wilson 57
Carter 53

I accidently skipped the birthdate of
Monroe
Pierce

but we have had only 3 presidents under 50 I checked that

Now if you add all these and divide the average age is 55

NO WHERE NEAR THE SO CALLED 40 SOMETHING WE WERE LEAD TO BELIEVE

I don't know why the truth isn't posted...

63. Obviously, I'm not one to defend Hillary, but just as with Ron Paul, facts are facts....
And when the OP's own words say "Obama at 46 is closer to the norm than Biden at 65, Dodd at 63 or Richardson and Clinton at 60." then by definition, Biden would be the oldest Democratic nominee, and Dodd the next oldest, with Hillary coming in third.

Unless you assume that Hillary's coronation is already written in stone, which I do not.

64. But 60 years old is not as old as it once was; people are living much longer now.

72. Question on today's "Family Feud"
"Would you be more likely to vote against a presidential candidate because they were old, divorced or a smoker?"

No. 1 answer at 64% was "Old." Of course, with Reagan you got all three (if you count his work as a cigarette pitchman).
