2008 Predictions, no matter the Nominee
~In No particular order, listed below are the candidates and who "I" think might be their potential running mates. I am trying to step into the mind of said candidate and cut the potential criticism that will come from the Republicans~

{Clinton/Vilsack}: I think Clinton will choose him because she knows, or should know, that Bayh is a negative before he even started. Bayh is a two term senator and his voting record does not match Clinton's. The last thing she wants is for the media hounding her nominee for VP with such questions as, "Senator Bayh, if you did not support some of the issues that Clinton cared about in the Senate, will you be an effective advocate for her Presidential platform" and nobody likes a Johnny Come-Lately....

{Edwards/Clark}: I know, i know, Wesley Clark is supporting Clinton but i think that Edwards choosing Clark will soften some of the media's criticisms about Edwards only focusing on a domestic agenda.

{Obama/Hollings}:Fritz Hollings, would give Obama what he is supposedly lacking; While doubtful, Hollings might put South Carolina in "play" And besides i really like Hollings ever since that 60 minutes interview a few years back....

{Biden/Manchin}: Again, the purpose of picking southerner who can't win their own state is a predominate theory for the Democrats. But, Manchin might do more harm as candidate for VP then good.....

{Dodd/Graham}: Bob Graham, now he might actually give us his home state, had the good sense to be against the war in Iraq and he was a leader in the Senate....

{Richardson/Pryor}: This match evens the playing field and will "appeal" to the Independents

{Gravel/Reed}: Reed has military experience. This ticket will give the country a break from the "south must be overrepresented" theory that abounds in the halls of Washington....

{Kucinich/Gravel}: This ticket would really give the media something to talk about.....

All of the above are just predictions, and really they are irrelevant. I do believe that who ever wins the nomination will be the next President.....

With this knowledge, the nominee should pick someone who will down-play their own negatives and who is ready to lead.....

5. Well, I don't think Obama will have time to change Hollings' Depends and
spoon-feed him his tapioca, but I'll try to keep an open mind!

9. Um, Ok
Sebleius is OK, but this is going to be a Democratic sweep in '08 so we don't need the mushy middle to muddle things for us. But, i hear she is an excellent governor.

10. Kathleen Sebelius is beyond an
excellent governor. And I think she fully intends to finish out her term -- she was just re-elected last year, and by Kansas law cannot run again right away. My guess is that in 2010 she'll possibly run for the Senate. Sam Brownback's current term will expire then, and he's often said he will voluntarily term-limit himself and not run again. It's hard to say to what extent Sebelius aspires to run for President. She's a very canny politician, very good at getting the Republican dominated state legislature to pass bills she wants and needs. Not that she gets everything she wants, but at least she's avoided the worse legislative gridlock that we could have had.

As a Kansan it's always nice to hear her mentioned like this, but at the moment we need her more.

11. I overlooked her
I don't think she was viable. But, she will make a great United States Senator, one day :)
