Obama: "There's an air of eloquent naivete about him."
Barack Obama's soaring, inspirational message seems to work its magic on most voters in his audiences, sending them off with a warm and fuzzy we-can-change-the-world feeling.

Not Stan Potratz.

"There's just an air of eloquent naivete about him," Potratz, 62, said after a town hall meeting here last week.

......

Challenging Obama face-to-face last week, Potratz said, "You can talk better than the other people. But there's a certain unreality about listening to you."

"I don't think those Republicans are going to roll over and play dead," continued Potratz...

Natalie Rhebb, 51, a preschool teacher from West Des Moines who is considering Obama, Clinton, John Edwards and Joe Biden, said she thought Obama delivered a "very passionate" presentation in Waukee, Iowa, last week.

But when asked whether he had enough experience, she replied, "I don't know."

Last week, after an Obama event in Nashua, N.H., Lois Ayer, 61, an English teacher, said the senator was "inspiring," but she prefers Clinton "because I like her grasp of the facts."

1. Hillary's grasp of the facts?
The only facts she seems to grasp are those which have been filtered through strategists and polls.

2. I like Obama's response to Mr. Potratz:
The first-term senator assured Potratz he's not naive. Obama said he's accustomed to Chicago's rough-and-tumble politics. He said he knows how to stand his ground, but would invite Republicans and independents into the fold.

"What I know is you don't start out by making enemies, you start out by looking for allies. And, then, if you find enemies, you knock 'em down," Obama said. "That's part of how I want to break the gridlock."

50. so were you or were you not quoting a Repuke as an attack on Obama
What you call 'Obamanation' is now actually a conglomerate of those people who have been with Obama from the start and those people like me who initially supported Gore or another candidate but now realize that the only hope for honest leadership and actual change for this Country is Barack Obama.

While Hillarism is an exclusive club for those who worship at her altar,

what you degrade as 'Obamanation' is an inclusive group which accepts all comers.

And we will welcome you, as well, when our nominee has finally been chosen.

52. It's nice to know what Hillarites truly think of young voters
Not that there was a chance I was going to vote for her anyway, but disrespect and condescension just make it easier to oppose an already easily opposable candidate.

Obama could be a better candidate, and neither he or Clinton are on Edwards' level, but I certainly trust Obama to change things that need to be changed far more than I trust Hillary to. In fact, I know Hillary will do nothing to change the status quo.

15. So does Hillary in public
She wants to lead and unite the country, but she wants to demonize Republicans.

She wants to bolster the middle class, but she tells CEO's behind closed doors that she will be supportive of Big Business and Wall St.

She believes we need "change" but that one has to be part of the Establishment to create change.

She makes Obama sound fiery by comparison.

53. Did you manage to type that with a straight face?
Hillary says she wants to get out of Iraq, but wants to keep "combat troops" aka military bases there as long as she is president.

Hillary is the Democratic version of Romney, although not a member of a religious cult. They are both the epitome of finger in the wind, triangulating politicians. Hillary is a little more believable than Romney, but it is painfully obvious that she wouldn't be anything close to what she is now without her husband. Hell it seems like she's trying to make us believe she was the president as much as Bill was, which is a pretty funny story for someone to tell for someone with no security clearance.

29. Obama is Preacher material not Presidential Timber
He inspires his audience like a preacher does in a Sunday morning sermon. A preacher preaches Hope through inspiration and that is precisely the definition of Barack Obama's mainstream theme...preaching HOPE!

We need a proven "doer" for president not a candidate preaching platitudes and vague promises..

51. Hillary will win because....
when it comes down to the nitty gritty people will vote for the person most qualified to lead the country and they're not going to take a chance on an unknown who is long on talk and short on substance.

Hillary is good in small groups and people like her close up. She's smart and knows the issues more than anybody else. She does have a grasp of the facts which might be boring to some but necessary when it comes to implementating positive change in this country.

I trust Hillary more than any other candidate and I would trust her instincts more than the other top two candidates.
