Obama Vows To Fight Special Interest Groups
Obama vows to fight special interest groups

MASON CITY — Invoking the words of both John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., U.S. Sen. Barack Obama pledged today to stand up for the ordinary citizen to fight special interests and Washington kingmakers.

Obama spoke to a crowd of about 600 at Newman Catholic High School.

The Illinois senator said he decided to run for president because “someone, somewhere stood up for me in the past.”

As examples, he cited those who stood up for the people’s right to vote and the right to organize and to work for a decent wage.

“Now it’s our turn to stand up,” he said.

He said in the first 100 days of his presidency, he would call a meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and tell them to start planning to get our troops out of Iraq within 16 months.

Also, he said he would start “public negotiations” for a universal health care plan “so the drug companies will have to face the American people.”

Third, he said he will ask his attorney general to review every executive order issued by President George W. Bush and to eliminate those that violate the constitution or otherwise unfairly infringe on people’s rights.

Of course, he is pandering to another special interest group, bigots, at the same time.

5. Odd thing for Obama to say after Abner Mikva said this about him.
"U.S. Sen. Barack Obama pledged today to stand up for the ordinary citizen to fight special interests and Washington kingmakers."

On Barack Obama,
Not everybody liked him; one Senate colleague described him as so ambitious that given the chance, he'd run for "king of the world." - Abner Mikva

Abner Mikva, Chicago lawyer, former congressman, judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Obama mentor.

A little slip admitting he knows the kingmakers....WOW. And "he" would like to be King.
WOW just WOW.
