Huckabee, who'd rather kill a duck back home, kills a pheasant in Iowa to "show his credentials"
Huckabee bags a bird in Iowa

Associated Press - December 26, 2007 3:33 PM ET

OSCEOLA, Iowa (AP) - Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is showing his credentials to Iowa's hunters, eight days before the state holds its caucuses.

The former Arkansas governor bagged a pheasant today on a hunting trip in the Iowa hills. Huckabee says if he were back home, he would be duck hunting on the day after Christmas.

A motorcade of photographers followed Huckabee to his hunting spot. He was joined by three other hunters and a dog named Dude. They returned with three dead pheasants. Huckabee says he shot the third one with a .12-gauge shotgun.

He says the outing shows he understands "the culture of being outdoors." He also says hunters are good for wildlife. He says they're interested in preserving species, and their license fees pay for conversation efforts.

5. What is with candidates killing helpless animals while campaigning?
Why not just bite the head off a live bat at a political rally? :sarcasm:

10. Ah h h h h h h h h h h h !
I thought Halloween was over. That scared me like those 'pop up' faces at the end of a ghost video. Hey that would make a good one.
The camera slowing zooms in on the Presidential podium as the announcer says, "Stare at the podium and concentrate. Think to yourself. 'Who will be the next president?, Who will be the next president?'." Then at the end the 'evil Huckabee' face flashes with a loud scream. :dem:
