Joe Biden Has Strong Dark-Horse Buzz in Iowa
Sen. Joe Biden is the Democrat with the most dark-horse buzz as Iowans prepare to cast their presidential caucus votes on January 3, 2008.

Word consistently has it that a large portion of Iowa "undecideds" are leaning toward Biden. And two weeks ago, Chris Matthews of Hardball placed the six-term senator from Delaware third in the Iowa race.

snip

Sen. Biden's viability as a presidential candidate makes good sense: he has more experience in foreign affairs than do Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards COMBINED. In fact, as a six-term senator, he has more experience in every realm of the presidency than do the three frontrunners.

Biden, Chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the 110th Congress (2007-08), is a gifted negotiator who has helped shape U.S. security and foreign relations policies for decades.

Joe Biden is an immensely likeable and genuinely funny guy. And the senator is clearly honest and blunt-spoken... sometimes to the point of foot-in-the-mouth TMI (i.e. "too much info"). But after the obsessive paranoia and intransparency of the Bush administration, a leader who confesses too much sounds mighty appealing...

I'm not predicting a Iowa caucus win for Joe Biden next week. But given the complexities of Iowa caucus rules, Sen. Biden is well positioned to be the come-from-behind dark-horse Democrat, and to finish surprisingly well.

19. Here's an article...
http://www.news4jax.com/news/14699316/detail.html

Some friends and I ordered some online a couple of years ago -- cost $250 a bottle! It came from Turkey, if I recall, and it said "medicinal anisette" on the box. We'd researched it, got the official absinthe spoons, perfect goblets, individual cruets for the ice water..it was a lot of fun and it would DEFINITELY help you get through the next 7 days!!

2. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him come in 3rd, with the top two
spots Edwards/Obama or Obama/Edwards. Good article :-)

9. I honestly think the Obama and Clinton camps are in for some disapointments...
I agree that Biden has a very real shot at third (and from a publicity standpoint it will get the coverage of a win, if not more) Edwards' organization may carry him past Obama and maybe Clinton.

but most likely it will wind up in a (for practical purposes three way tie at the top with Biden very very close up to them. This would hurt both Obama and Clinton as far as positive coverage as well as the so called momentum factor. It would be a HUGE boost to Biden. It will end Richardson, Dodd and Kucinich, even though they will still campaign in NH.

Hey, it's my opinion, okay?

the discourse just on this board (if we look at it like a microcosm, sort of).. can you see ANY Edwards or Obama supporters going to HRC?I can see them going to each other, or to Biden or Richardson, but not to HRC. Again, Just MHO :-)

21. Actually, she is my second choice, Biden is my first
Which will make an interesting 5 days between Iowa & Nh if Biden pulls out a third place. Obama & Edwards are on the bottom of my list.

If Obama & Hillary are tied & Biden is at 10% +, I"m gonna have a devil of a time deciding who to vote for. Oh yeah, to add even more confusion, I've been working for Hillary. Since I've agreed to work the polls all day, the Hillary people want me to do an absentee ballot.

All I can say is *Thank god* for Caller ID, I don't have to talk to obama's people! Now if I could just stop the automated Ron Paul phone calls at 4A(the flipping)M
I am looking forward to Jan 9th!!
