3. Didn't Biden poll at 3% in the last CNN poll (with Richardson at 7%, and the top three at 26%-30%)?
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/20/iowa.poll/index.html

I could see Joemementum 2.0 pushing Biden past Richardson but how much news/funds/bump does Biden get from 4th?

Biden has to beat Hillary (or Obama who I expected to win until this past week) to get into the race. How does that happen?

18. I mentioned an Iowa poll less than 3 weeks before the caucus; you mentioned a national poll 6 weeks
before the caucus.

In the weeks before the 2004 caucus, John Kerry was ahead in the Iowa polls, and Edwards was in second or within the margin of error in the Iowa polls.

Biden may pull of an upset 3rd place, but only if Richardson, Dodd, Kucinich, and one of the top tier candidates all simultaneously collapse on January 3rd. It's possible, but overwhelmingly unlikely.

The fight between Biden and Richardson for 4th place in Iowa will be close and very interesting to watch.

21. Of the 5 most recent Iowa polls, Richardson leads Biden in 3 and in the overall average, but I'd be
happy to see Biden beat Richardson.

22. Remember?
Remember that in the final days of the 2004 Democratic campaign, an independent organization called Americans for Jobs, Health Care & Progressive Values savaged former governor Howard Dean (Vt.). Robert Gibbs, who had served a stint as Sen. John Kerry's (Mass.) presidential communications director, was affiliated with the group. (Gibbs is now the communications director for Obama's presidential campaign.)

6. Yes, he will....
and it will wake a lot of people up to him. Most people that don't support him now, won't because they think he can't win, but that's total bs. That's the same mindset of the people who told Joe back in 1971, that he couldn't beat Boggs. Obviously they were wrong. Joe, all the while knew he could win. Much like he maintains now....

They just need to see something concrete before they commit to him, unlike the rest of us, who were willing to put it all out there right from the get go.

26. Because I believe that Hillary has a better chance of winning a GE
Biden is somewhat of a loose cannon, and his words are easy to misinterpret. For example, Biden's "articulate and clean" comment about Obama, or his "you have to be indian to go to a 7/11" comment. He obviously doesn't intend to be offensive, but it comes off that way, and it would be a killer in a GE. Hillary is much more careful about what she says, and I don't think that she could be boxed in like Biden could be.
