My Iowa prediction...
Edited on Wed Dec-26-07 09:31 PM by Lirwin2
Either Edwards or Clinton will take it. If Edwards takes it, Clinton will lose by a very tiny margin, and vice versa. Biden will take third. Obama will come in a distant fourth, although Dodd might pull through for fourth place, with Obama coming in 5'th.

19. why is Biden not electable in your view?
I'm really curious about that, because I actually know a lot of people here in KY that would never vote for any one with a D behind their name, except for Joe Biden for some reason. And it's not because he's conservative. I think it's because he knows a lot when it comes to foreign policy and he's put forth a really good plan on Iraq. I was shocked when I started finding out that people who I knew were Republicans thought that Biden would make a good President. I mean, there are still lots of Republicans that won't ever take the time to even consider anyone if they don't have an R behind their name, but the ones that actually pay attention to politics are talking of switching parties so that they can vote for Biden. Maybe it's because we're on a military post? And so the war and how you approach it is the #1 issue?

I too, have found some Republicans that would vote for Biden. At first, this sorta disturbed me...I really didn't like the idea of a person on the Right liking Biden. But I began to realize that many people, even Republicans are less concerned about policy than they are about "leadership." Oh yes, Republicans care about policy. However, I think that they would rather have a strong leader considering the situation that we find our country in.

20. Biden is electable....
probably the most electable. Of course if people buy into what the media is saying, and don't look at the facts, then I guess they don't see it. Joe is probably the ONLY democrat running that could get republicans to vote for him, thereby bolstering a win for the dems. He's already won over many republicans in Iowa.(from their own mouths)

Edited on Wed Dec-26-07 10:07 PM by LakeSamish706
as our next President... For many reasons, and the most important to me is getting this war over and our troops out now.... Others have committed to doing this, but Kucinich has been the most steadfast in this endeavour..... My other concern is bringing this corrupt Administration to justice, and I believe that Kucinich will do that as well.

10. I'd love to lay down a prediction but the truth is I have no idea in hell who
Edited on Wed Dec-26-07 09:46 PM by Old Crusoe
is even ahead, let alone predict who might win.

There are at least half a dozen (or more) scenarios at work in these caucuses.

I'd prefer that John Edwards and Joe Biden finish 1 and 2 since I like them in that order. But it appears as if Senator Clinton is formidable, and Senator Obama is drawing crowds. Gov. Richardson is exceptionally qualified and Chris Dodd's principled stands this fall have been awfully welcome. I've always been fond of Dennis Kucinich and that's unchanged. Gravel seems to lack support but he certainly doesn't lack brains and cajones.

We have several potentially excellent chief executives. The Pukes ain't got nobody.

I'll hope for my favorite scenario and take whatever comes. Without a doubt, it would be a great exhilaration to be a registered Iowa Democrat this week.

31. Biden isn't within striking distance, Dodd isn't even on the radar
I know that polls aren't that good at predicting the outcome of the Iowa Caucuses but Biden making it into the top 3 would be an error of Dewey defeats Truman proportions. And that only happened because they stopped polling an entire month before the election.

45. Prediction: Pain.
(Mr. T - remember that one?)

I predict that approximately 41-42 days from now, many Clinton supporters will face a choice: Gracefully concede and join the rest of the DU community in supporting the front-runner(s), or spend the next 9 months plopping in - typo intended - with ad hominum attacks, carping and insisting that Clinton would have been doing so much better than (insert your candidate).

I predict that Lirwin2, if not already banned, will choose the latter.
