Whe put herself in harms way. How could anyone have protected her (Mushariff's excuse). Now we hope that democracy will still forge ahead - only this time with our hand picked candidate.

Interesting - they are saying that the Taliban or Al Quida could be responsible for her death. So Mushariff - who is protecting Osama Bin Laden - wasn't a target - hmmmm!!!!

Wow - if you blinked your eye - you wouldn't have seen or heard *'s comments. At least he didn't declare Marshall Law and suspend the elections - yet!!!!

Obama - was the first of the top tier Dem candidates to make a statement.

HRC is waiting until everyone is in so she is sure that she can trump everyone and not make a mistake in her statement from one woman leader about another.

So who won the pool?

These are just some observations.

2. Top tier...like that matters....
Biden has been talking about Pakistan forver. Also, the differences in what Obama said, and what Joe has said are starkly contrasted.

5. Clinton does not need a man to tell her what to say
Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on the Death of Benazir Bhutto

"I am profoundly saddened and outraged by the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, a leader of tremendous political and personal courage. I came to know Mrs. Bhutto over many years, during her tenures as Prime Minister and during her years in exile. Mrs. Bhutto's concern for her country, and her family, propelled her to risk her life on behalf of the Pakistani people. She returned to Pakistan to fight for democracy despite threats and previous attempts on her life and now she has made the ultimate sacrifice. Her death is a tragedy for her country and a terrible reminder of the work that remains to bring peace, stability, and hope to regions of the globe too often paralyzed by fear, hatred, and violence.

"Let us pray that her legacy will be a brighter, more hopeful future for the people she loved and the country she served. My family and I extend our condolences and deepest sympathies to the victims and their families and to the people of Pakistan."

6. Granted the post you're responding to was provocative
...but why bring the "doesn't need a man" angle into this? I think the obvious point the other poster was trying to make is that Biden is seen by most as an authority on US foreign policy as it regards Pakistan. No need for sexism, or reverse sexism, or however this would be properly termed.

8. Not true....
Hillary already made a statement and a good one too. She has her own wisdom. Petty, petty, petty is your statement regarding Hillary.

9.  Did Bhutto ever think of the chaos that would follow
when she put herself in harms way knowing that she could be assassinated and the people would suffer more because of it.

10. Perhaps she should have hidden herself away?
She understood that to truely lead in Pakistan she needed to be visable amongst the people. She understood the risk but to lead freely one can not feel fear of those who follow.

11. Any one here willing to risk - and give - their life for Democracy?
Yeah, it was "her fault"... and her sacrifice puts petty typing to shame.
