We can argue about who's politicizing these events, but in a few day's time that will be forgotten. It's clear that most of the top candidates and the media have settled on their meme as the title shows.
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/politics/ny-uscands1228,0,4618726.story Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton seized on news of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto's assassination Thursday, as both used it to underscore a key campaign pitch -- that the United States needs a strong, tested leader to face a dangerous world.
Both Giuilani and Clinton have seen their political fortunes wane during recent weeks of relative stability in the world – and both stand to benefit if Bhutto's assassination refocuses voters on terrorism in these final days before voting begins in Iowa and New Hampshire.

"it certainly raises the stakes high for what we expect from our next president. I know from a lifetime of working to make change.
Giuliani:
"Her death is a reminder that terrorism anywhere — whether in New York, London, Tel-Aviv or Rawalpindi — is an enemy of freedom. We must redouble our efforts to win the terrorists' war on us."
McCain:
the death of Bhutto "underscores yet again the grave dangers we face in the world today and particularly in countries like Pakistan..."
It's clear that they're following the strategy followed by Bush in 2004. Raise fears of terrorism and tell people that the stakes are too high for them to risk handing power over to someone new who isn't tested and experienced.
