Concord Monitor endorses Clinton
http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071229/OPINION/712300301

Hillary Clinton is the Democrats' best choice

Immediately after taking office, President Hillary Clinton would begin preparations to withdraw American troops from Iraq.
She would send a message to world leaders that the United States intends to rejoin the community of nations.

snip

Barack Obama, more than most, has the power to inspire. The positive tone of his campaign is not a gimmick. He is a serious candidate with sober ideas. For reasons symbolic and substantive, he would also be a nominee Democrats could feel proud to vote for.

But Hillary Clinton's unique combination of smarts, experience and toughness makes her the best choice to win the November election and truly get things done. Before embarking on an agenda of her or his own, the next American president will be forced to undo the damage of the Bush years: ending the war in Iraq, restoring habeas corpus rights, ending the use of torture, healing New Orleans, restoring America's moral authority around the world.

1. The new voting bloc doesn't read endorsements
They fact check things on the internet.
They fact checked the real Clinton agenda.
They fact checked the demise of the progressive movement and the Democratic Party during the 90's
They fact checked the amount of times progressives were thrown under the bus by the Clintons

2. That is simply not true, I have seen many other candidate's
supporters celebrating an endorsement. They do matter.

And, the reason that newspaper endorsements are important, is because they do extensive research on all the candidates including interviews and record reviews.

8. In Bill Clinton's era USA was prosperous, and well liked in the world
We thought that NAFTA would provide needed improvements and level the playing field with imports versus exports. We were getting the raw end of the deal. It did not pain out as expected, and Clinton agrees with that.

I am not certain to what you refer when you blame Clinton for the "disarray of the democratic party" and how Clinton is at fault for that. The democratic party is a big tent (or should be) although those on DU currently wish to make those who support Clinton to be kicked off the board), but herding cats would be easier than unifying the democratic party.

You actually do need to go on. Cause, really I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that Clinton is responsible for Emanuel (who was elected) and Hoyer (who was elected).

It appears that you have problems with the party and are doing what all good people who just repeat right-wing talking points as if fact: ITS ALL CLINTON'S FAULT

9. Typical Clintonian TRIANGULATION
Edited on Sun Dec-30-07 11:56 AM by gaiilonfong
You responsened like a good DLC'er!
Didn't support any of the Clinton iniatives with a reason!

Everyone knows the Hoyer/Emanuel part of the parties rise to leadership was a direct result of BigDog
I thought in many ways Clinton was a good president, smart etc.

And in true Clintonian TRINGULATION you accuse me of wingnut talking points without providing proof. And that i think Clinton supporters should be thrown out...never said that!!!!!

Yes I am part of the vast left wing progressive agenda, that I admit and proud of it.
CAN YOU SAY THE SAME?

10. Big one for Hill. They also gave some praise to Obama, but did you see the jab they took at Kerry?
Unlike John Kerry, she would not dither when the inevitable attacks came

Wow!

Glad to recommend this big endorsement

... another media source pretending Edwards doesn't exist. It's going to be so sweet to see how they scramble and spin the morning after the Iowa caucus, when Edwards emerges the frontrunner.

"His harsh anti-corporate rhetoric would make it difficult to work with the business community to forge change."

Don't they know that's an endorsement in itself?
