Edwards also says he will take Big Money out of politics. That is something no other candidate has promised in eight years.

The last man who vowed to reform political contributions was John McCain in 2000. The GOP Big Money Contributors grabbed him by the scruff of the neck like he was a puppy who just sh*t on the carpet, slapped him across the ass with a folder newspaper, stuck his nose in it --- and then threw him out the door. McCain -- who now supports anything Big Business wants -- will be the first to admit he has been a much better (and house-broken) Conservative Republican because of that experience.

That's exactly what I want. But to get that -- we need to elect a president who will do to them what they did to McCain. If they find themselves out on the front porch in the snow and sleet, with a sore ass and a stuffy nose -- they will learn to leave the election process to the American voters.

I don't think we will get it until we give our complete support to a candidate who at least has the courage to promise to help us. With our continued support, he may actually act on that promise.

...but big business will cry and scream and lobby and manipulate that they're being hurt - and getting their asses kicked back to the same level as "we the people" in regards to their influence on gov't might hurt a little but I don't know of anyone (including Edwards) who wants to eliminate them or their influence. We might like to see it brought back into proper balance though.

What's at stake IS the future of our country and our childrens' future, which has been literally sold down the corprat river for their profits. And that just ain't right. Edwards is the only (electable) one who seems to even be TALKING about doing anything about it at all!

It's the biggest single reason I support him. There are others. He was my Senator and I know how he works and that he DOES work primarily FOR PEOPLE, not the powerful.
