Biden just makes sense, 'West Wing' actor says
Dubuque, Ia. -- With tanks of grinning alligators and half-ton prehistoric snapping turtles as a captive audience at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden rallied supporters with promises that he will offer a surprise at Thursday's caucuses.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna shock the hell out of you," Biden said over the din of a cheering crowd Saturday night in an uncharacteristically short speech.

He spent less time selling himself and more time answering questions from the audience.

In a working-class city with a strong Irish and Catholic influence, Biden appeals to people, said Teri Goodmann, Iowa co-chairwoman for Biden's campaign.

Biden was introduced by actor Richard Schiff, who played White House press secretary Toby Ziegler in the NBC series "The West Wing." Schiff will travel with Biden in Iowa through today.

The actor echoed the frustrations of a second-tier candidate - a lack of media attention.

"I don't care what CNN says, I don't care what Fox News says, or the New York Times," Schiff said. "There's one candidate who makes sense, who's going to take over the office, can take action and doesn't have to spend two or three years learning how to be president," he said.

5. We just need for more people to actually "hear" him
Not everyone follows politics like we do and if it isn't in the MSM, it doesn't exist. Hopefully that will all change soon.

8. Richard Schiff sums it up well. Biden makes sense on ALL the issues --
Iraq, Pakistan, security at home, true diplomacy in working with other countries.... I could go on. In each area, when I compare him to our other candidates, I feel Biden is the most qualified (obviously :7).

12. At the risk of providing TMI...
(my #1 daughter says that's "too much information"), I was a near fatality. Let's just say that, despite not eating flesh, I have not taken proper care with my diet. After a self-surgical procedure (I swear on Buddha's mother, if it had been my arm, I would have cut it off!), I've introduced myself to raisin bran with prune juice back. DElightful. And I will NEVER eat cheese again!

Thanks for asking.

13. Ah, I get the picture!
As always, your explanation was unique and original. Sounds like you are feeling better. Too bad about the cheese though. I love my cheese!

14. I, too, love the cheese. Much the pity.
I'm having to do a lot more "letting go" than I anticipated would be necessary at this age. There are attachments we do not recognize until we suffer their loss.

We always seem to need what we want, but seldom want what we need. Isn't it strange the things we least want, we get with the greatest of speed?

As it has been said, "The Great Path is not difficult for one who has no preferences."

Blessings.

15. Yes
because to "want" something affirms that you don't "have" it. Every time my daughter says, "I want...", I remind her of this simple truth.

As for "letting go", I guess it was best that we didn't realize at a younger age that it would continue to be difficult later in life.
