Boy that was quiet. I guess with all the intraparty mudslinging and whatever here, and Bhutto getting whacked, I entirely missed that our proud legislature once again caved to DumbFuck and gave him the SCHIP bill he wanted rather than the one this nation needs. Another atta boy to that proud legislative record! Gosh it's so great to be on the winning team.

4. I agree
I think it's time to get some new blood in congress. Get rid of those who want to back crap like this, and elect someone who will stand up for the people. I know I am hoping there are some challengers in my state this year for Senator because I sure as hell am tired of the one up for election this year!

5. I'm sorry that you have such a freaking thin skin.
"whacked" is slang for assassinated. In particular, as her assassination smells of state sponsored lihoppery, the usage is to the point. You should get over yourself.

6. Justify it all you want.......
what is shows is a lack of respect on your part. It shows total lack of class as well.

7. Really? Please explain.
I'm missing how 'Bhutto got whacked' shows a lack of respect for Bhutto. It certainly indicates a total lack of respect on my part for the Pakistani thugs who run Pakistan. On the other hand, I am proud to be a peasant and consequently my 'total lack of upper class acceptability' is just fine with me. Happy new year.

8. But if they caved in all the time, they wouldn't have broken records for NOT caving in.
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 08:13 AM by Perry Logan
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

9. ah, so you'd prefer that children currently covered under SCHIP
lose that coverage in a meaningless and unwinnable fight with bushie. I see.

12. Yes of course we should just continue to concede on everything.
It is working so well for us. They know they don't have to worry about defending Bush's vetos of anything, because we will just cave in and give them what we want. It is a game of chicken where it is already established which side is going to give in first. Great strategy.

13. Mr. Stupidity:
they didn't fold on SCHIP. It was fucking vetoed. They actually passed it with both dem and repuke votes. And virtually all the dems in both Houses voted for it. What the fuck else could they have done? I'm sure you have a devastatingly brilliant answer.

The fact is that extending the bill is better than nothing. I get it that you value a losing battle over the lives of poor children, but not all of us can be so stupendously selfish.

14. As I said, they know we are going to blink.
Your same logic has been used to justify refunding the Iraq war several times now.
