16. I don't blame you. I know that they're not a perfect
organization, just like Barney Frank is not a perfect gay lawmaker.

He supported taking the "T" out of ENDA, which I disapprove of.

Yet I still support HRC and Barney Frank.

And the logo fits perfectly with my fierce views on human rights.

Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 11:51 AM by zanne
I've been a volunteer since June. From Jan. 4-8, we'll be working on our GOTV efforts. (Get out the vote). It's going to be crazy. My house will be one of the West side's headquarters for the runners, phonebankers and canvassers. I was phonebanking last night and got an Edwards volunteer who said he spends time phonebanking at Edward's headquarters. Then he started screaming and cursing me out for calling him! (I didn't have time to make a deal with him--"OK, I'll stop calling you if you'll stop calling me!). I dropped the phone and pushed it away with my pen!
It's getting really exciting now. ONLY 8 DAYS TO GO! FIRED UP!

14. Tentatively here.
I lean Obama, though I like Edwards as well. (I also dig Kucinich, but I'm jaded enough to have abandoned all hope from that quarter.) And for that matter, I'm pretty happy with all our primary candidates.

Of course, since I'm in Florida, my primary vote doesn't count anyway.

24. Hi, I'm Donnie
and I support Barack Obama. I also think that homosexuality is a curse that's killing our children and I am so grateful that God delivered me from the plague of homosexuality. I'm at war with homosexuality because it is, as I said, killing our children. I'm so grateful to Senator Obama for giving me a microphone and the starring role in his campaign event in South Carolina two months ago so I could preach to people just like me about evil and pernicious the homosexual agenda is and how they've demonized me just because I stated my belief, predicated by my faith, that homosexuality is a choice and a curse. I'm also grateful that Senator Obama hasn't apologized for my comments at his event because he supports me 100% and must agree with what I said that night.

26. OMG!!! R U KIDDING???

NOW YOU CAN REALLY HAVE SERMON WTH YOUR BROTHERS AND SIS'S... LINK TO BHO'S CHURCH.

INTERESTING MISSION STATEMENT FOR CHRISTIANS....HOW DO YOU READ IT??????

http://www.tucc.org/about.htm

About Us

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

Mission

Mission Statement: What Trinity Is About

Trinity United Church of Christ has been called by God to be a congregation that is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that does not apologize for its African roots! As a congregation of baptized believers, we are called to be agents of liberation not only for the oppressed, but for all of God’s family. We, as a church family, acknowledge, that we will, building on this affirmation of "who we are" and "whose we are," call men, women, boys and girls to the liberating love of Jesus Christ, inviting them to become a part of the church universal, responding to Jesus’ command that we go into all the world and make disciples!

We are called out to be "a chosen people" that pays no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds. We are made up of the highly educated and the uneducated. Our congregation is a combination of the haves and the have-nots; the economically disadvantaged, the under-class, the unemployed and the employable.

The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!

Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 12:25 PM by indimuse
AND...MORE IMPORTANTLY....THE RW MACHINE WILL HAVE A FEILD DAY WITH THIS AND SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP NOW! I AM CHRISTAIN BLACKS WHITES ASIAN ALL ATTEND MY CHURCH!!! WE LOVE AND SUPPORT ALL PEOPLE NOT JUST ONE FLAVOR...AND CONCEDE OUR MOTHERLAND AS AFRICA...HOW CAN YOU REPRESENT THE US WHEN YOUR FIRST COMMITTMENT IS TO ANOTHER COUNTRY...READ THE MISSION AND SUGGEST YOU PERUSE THE REST OF THE SITE BEFORE QUESTIONING ME....YOU SHOULD ??? YOUR CANDIDATE. REMEBER "THERE IS NO RED AMERICA...THERE IS NO BLUE AMAERICA..." NO BLACK CHRISTIAN...NO WHITE CHRISTAIN...RIGHT..? NOT AT THEIR CHURCH...I FIND THIS OFFENSIVE TO TRUE CHRISTIANS. JUST LIKE I FEEL THE RW HAS HI-JACK THE WORD CHRISTIANITY...AND THE FLAG...NOTHING THEY SAY OR DO IS CHRISTIAN LIKE...JESUS LIKE AND I FIND IT OFFENSIVE TO "SEGREGATE" THE MEANING OF UNITY....!

WHAT ABOUT THEIR MISSION STATEMENT...THAT'S ALL... THIS WILL BE A HUGE ISSUE IF HE IS NOMINATED...GUARANTEED!

http://www.tucc.org/about.htm

W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.
EXPLAIN TO ME HOW SEPERATING PEOPLE OF COLOR BRINGS THEM TOGETHER??? Fascinating...:dilemma:

55. Count me in!
I've been behind Barack ever since I first saw him in person at the Democratic Party of Evanston (Ilinois) meeting when all the Dem primary contenders for the Senate spoke -- at the very beginning of that primary process and many months before he became a contender for the Senate. There was no question in mind about him then, and I'm even more convinced now. What non-Illinoisans have never understood is that the Democratic primary for that race was fiercely fought among heavily financed front-runners, who had the backing of the most powerful Dems in the state. Obama was not included in that elite group, nor was the Republican nominee expected to be anyone resembling the appalling Allan Keyes. The flat-out favorite for that position was Jim Ryan -- an incredibly well-qualified, well-financed, outrageously handsome and glamorous guy with an impressive history and a movie-star wife. It wasn't til late in the game that the Tribune got wind of the fact that his sealed divorce records showed he had forced his wife into public group sex, and his candidacy folded unexpectedly.
