The Dem polls taken nationwide show Clinton in the lead. Polls that I have seen in the past that ask who would do best against the Repub candidate pointed towards Edwards, but I haven't followed up on those polls in a couple months.

20. This polls shows that Iowans don't have all of the info they need

about what it will take to win the GE.

There is a myth being perpetuated in reference to John Edwards.
The same myths that we have read on these boards since the fall; that Edwards is most electable simply because he is the most CW candidate in the running;i.e., the White male from the south.

What some Iowans aren't keeping in mind is that Edwards has yet to have been vetted or tested in earnest by the media in the 5 years he's been running....
and that will be the biggest part of his "electability" problem if he wins the nom.

In reference to the media and its history with Edwards,
They loved him 2 weeks prior to Iowa in 2004.
They loved him throughout the primaries after Iowa in 2004.
They lobbied for him to become Kerry's Veep pick in 2004.
We barely knew he was there during the '04 general election,
except for his so/so debate against Cheney
They only mentioned his hair and his wife until December of 2007.
and looking like a rerun, they are loving him 2 weeks prior to Iowa in 2007.


Campaign financing limits is what now makes him attractive to the Corporate media and the GOP....
which is why we are getting so many "pleasant" reports on Edwards now....right in the nick of time for the caucuses.

Unfortunately, Edwards will be ready for his close up too late for a buyer's remorse warrantee to help us....and the infamous "electability" myth of the primaries will once again die a slow death.

They will bury him....with the exact right-on-the money timing.....and as most of us know, money talks, and timing is everything!

it's a bit disturbing that so few care very much about winning, but after all, this is a poll response, not a caucus vote. People don't always tell the truth, do they? A LOT of people might say they are idealists, and want to see X nominated regardless of whether X will win, until the specter of President Guiliani, or Huckaby, or Romney looms big in their minds.

Despite all the work they put into thses polls, they are still stupid. And the people answering are so fed up with them they are probably just making shit up.
