Campaign: Obama will win Iowa

Democrat Barack Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe told reporters this morning that Obama is positioned to win the Iowa Caucuses.

“We think we’re going to enter caucus night with enough supporters identified to win even under the most aggressive scenarios,” Plouffe said.

although she never said it (the Media did) that she talked as if she were going to win. They thought that because she thought she was "inevitable" they would not support her.

It was a stupid lie, that for some reason many picked up on as reasons not to support her. Your question is valid: who would say they were going to loose? But, if Clinton says that--she is a bitch who does not deserve a vote.

And actually, I don't think it was necessarily a bad strategy. I think it was just carried out poorly, both as a result of missteps in the Clinton camp and (even more importantly) the muddled Republican primary. The Clinton campaign had to either commit to it or not -- either act like you're already running against the GOP candidate, or run in the Democratic primary against your Democratic opponents. Unfortunately, the confused Republican primary meant that Clinton couldn't really go after a specific GOP candidate -- there was no obvious frontrunner, the way she was with the Dems until a month or so ago in Iowa (and the way she still is in national polls).

I like Obama at the top, but I recognize that he will need someone with impeccable foreign policy credentials as VP. I worry that Biden wouldn't accept a VP slot if it were offered. So....if your dream ticket becomes a reality, I'm definitely on board!
